Meshuggah can be, pretty much, divided into two periods. The ´90 when they where at their fastest more trashy with Destroy Erase Inprove and Chaosphere, which is not really trash anymore, but is still pretty fast and brutal. And then we have the "slower" Nothing, the more experimental and groovy Catch 33 and obZen... which pretty much is a bit of everything they have ever done, but I think it still falls under the later cathegory.

I vote for the second period, I find it more interesting, much more experimentation and, personally, it´s where Meshuggah is at their most meshuggah-like... if that makes any sense

Gimme the groove.
I like slow music anyway, so slow 'shug is good for me.

also voted for the most recent stuff, it sounds less like crap metal and more like a band being themselves

Hey man you can't put your bias in the poll options! Trash/Tech!? That's unfair!

I'm all about the 00's period too. Mainly because of the better production, songwriting and vocals.
