While I am very happy that Bowie has been added to the archives, I am annoyed that his self titled debut cannot be added on account of it being a bootleg or unaithorized item. I realise most fans ignore it as not being part of the Bowie canon, it is, and has always been regarded as an official album by Bowie, released by a proper record label. So, again, why can't it be added?

Has anyone said it cannot be added. If it's availabe officially, ie. in record shops or through legitimate dealers, there's not usually a problem.

Bowie experts, over to you...

It is definitely an official album, although I'm not sure if it has been reissued on CD

I'm no Bowie expert but I can confirm that I've seen a self titled album in stores. In fact I wanted to check on this site to see if it was getting good ratings but it wasn't there. Anyways, I've seen it in stores, what do the Bowie experts think?

I'm no Bowie expert either, but I've heard that Bowie himself doesn't like the album and that's why it hasn't (ever?) been reissued. It is an official album though and should be included in his discography (as it now seems to be).

The copy I saw was on CD, so that's proof that it was issued on CD. This was at a major retailer too

ye, it's been added now, so I am happy. My review is posted if you want to consider buying it, but it's probably not worth buying unless you are a serious Bowie addict.

The album, and all the tracks from it, have been issued, re-issued, re-packaged, recycled, and regurgitated in many forms - (even more than From Genesis to Revelations Shocked) - and I don't think we can/should include them all. Mandy has added one version ( http://www.progarchives.com/album.asp?id=18793 - London Boy ) - which is valid since it is currently available, and the Deram anthology mentioned in the Bio could also be added for the same reason.

You are free to add notes about alternate releases, if I'm not mistaken or maybe not at newbie level?

Better yet, since it's been added in other forms, just review it.
