I recently downloaded Visual Boy Advanced with built in Gameshark, and a .ram version of Pokemon Gold. Then i started "hacking it" with gameshark codes. It can get really screwed up!

Too bad it crashes so easily. It's much more fun when really f**ked up stuff happen!

I'm more a fan of the classic Missingno glitches that occured naturally in the game. Missingno was always my favorite Pokemon, I wish they'd bring him back.

Ahhhh.... The memories....
When I finally got to Cinnabar island and had pokemon with Fly and Surf and whatnot, I kept using the missingno cheat to get Rare Candy so I didn't have to put any effort into levelling my pokemon anymore...(I did get my Blastoise to level 99 without cheating, though)
Maybe I'll start a new game of Pokemon now... I'll just have to decide which color.

The missingno cheat was godly. To me, it was a glitch in the game, and to do that was perfectly legitimate anyway, and I know heaps of people did it. I would only ever use the cheat to level up the pokemon I picked at the start, since that was enough to beat any battle anyway.

I just started a new game on Pokemon Gold with the "Walk through Walls" and "Steal Trainers Pokemon" cheat. It's sick! You can get to the Pokemon League with a Level 5 Chikorita And you don't even have to battle the Elite four, you can just walk through the doors

I find that the pokemon games on portable consoles are excellent but there's far too much grinding to gain levels early on and for me that often means that I'm completely bored by the time the average level of my pokemon is around 25. However I find that I enjoy the apparently inferior regular console releases more as they are a little bit faster paced.

Pokemon is a little boring on an actual Game Boy, but on an emulator it's awesome because you can just unlock the frame limit and grind at 5000 FPS.

i don't know. . . its part of my childhood an i like to do like i did on the "old" days: on a freaking game boy. i must agree that that searching for wild pokemon is REALLY of boring and it IS better to do it on an emulator or on the pokemon stadium (i still have my NINTENDO SIXTY FOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!** with its games, including stadium), but the battles i like to do old school style!

The thing about grinding in Pokemon games: if you play them wrong, grinding isn't a problem. If you play them right, yes, you are going to be doing lots of grinding.
I used nothing but my starter for the first few Pokemon games, and he'd always be completely overpowered. I mean, by the end of it all, if the enemy survived an attack at all, regardless of type advantages or anything, I was honestly shocked.
Meanwhile, I recently picked up Diamond, and the grinding just kills me since I'm trying to use everyone. Oh well.

Dragon Quest Monsters was always a better, if much lesser-known, series.

Some recent glitching around in Pokemon Gold:
I battled a trainer in Glitch city, and managed to catch that trainer with a master ball (That is very hard to do without crashing the emulator afterwards). This is that trainers Pokedex info
Some seriously screwed up background. Made by walking outside the actual maps using the "Walk through walls" cheat. Then, pokemon league music starts playing. And the game usually crashes after a while. And my character turned into 4 blinking letters!

The trainers in Glitch city usually have screwed up names. Psyduck Thomas is sometimes just called Thomas, and he has no pokemon so he send out himself (under the name ?????). Then the game freezes. I've also battled "Grunt" and even Elite Four Lance there
Then, the game restarted, and the colours went nuts:

That's all for now...

Oh Aaron, you and your monsters.
It's true, the Dragon Quest Monsters games were superior in many ways, but they didn't have Missingo.
Pokemon just has more of a nostalgia factor for me. Whenever a new one comes out it's like a Return To Childhood tour.
And my Level 100 Blastoise (nicknamed "Blastadon") with Earthquake/Body Slam/Surf/Ice Beam could pwn pretty much anything.

I had Sapphire, but never got into it. I started a game on Red a while ago (played it during school to be RIO) for some nostalgia. Gold/Silver were probably my favorite, lots of new features and 16 total badges and I liked all 250 pokemon, stopped caring for most after that.

Not my Glitch Entei, level 120 with about 450HP Or my shining Misdreavus, level 100, that knows "Perish song" Or my Omastar, Kabutops, Raikou, Shining Tyranitar and Magneton. All level 100

Omastar and Kabutops - Weak against Earthquake Tyranitar - Weak against Surf. Magneton - No longer weak against Earthquake, but even with the new rules a STABed Surf should still be abe to knock him out. (And if he goes first, Blastiose defense means he could survive at least one super effective attack).Misdreavus low defense probably couldn't survive a STABed Surf either.
As for Raikou and Entei - legendaries are for newbs.

Recent glitch adventures:

Screwed up item menu. And all of all sudden, i got loads of new items, in HUGE quantities!

Good old glitch city, outside of Celadon city. I just walked far into the woods (outside the actual map), and when i came back: GLITCH CITY! The music tells me that i'm in saffron city, though.
More to come!

By using the "Walk through Walls" cheat, and skipping certain doors and passages, the background gets screwed up, and all the trainers looks like you!

And when i tried to give Hyper Beam & Ice Beam to my glitch Ho-oh and Lugia, my ball pocket got screwed up. I got some strange items that you couldn't get rid off!

Well, you can't beat my Level 250 Ho-oh with about 800HP The sad part is that when you use him in battle, he levels up to Level 100, and reduces his hp to 360
Here's my recent glitch team:

Hehe, I kept battling those weird trainers you get when you do the missingno glitch, and my game of Blue Version glitched and I've gotta start again. But this time around I'll get Mew. I'm curious as to whether Mew is any good if I used a whole bunch of power ups on it.

Mew sucks unless you "power it up" by teaching it good attacks and level it up using rare candies.

Update:

I'm not sure how that happened, but it is in the "Glitch dimension", hence the weird colours. I used quite alot of cheats, including one that allows you to surf anywhere and hover above the ground.

Some background glitching again. And i also used a code that reduced my character into a 2-part head.

SICK! That's what happens when you catch a level 100+ pokemon and use it in battle. I hate that!
Enjoy!

Oh, Gold Version. I could kill all of you with some of the glitchers I had on there.

I had just about every legendary there was, all at absurb levels with insanely powerful moves they'd never normally learn. Plus, I had a level 4 Pidgey that I fed an almost infinite number of speed and attack-boosting powerups so that he could one-hit anybody in Victory Road.

I found this on the internet some months ago and forgot i had it.I hope its not inappropriate.

BTW, not trying to be a moral pain in the ass, but shouldn't emulators be illegals, at least in Europe, Canada and USA, where everything not owned by the industry is illegal, such as downloading music on the internet?
PS: this was just a question. Please don't start a whole discussion about if downloading mp3s is a good thing. Thanks .

More side-effects of getting-infinite-masterballs-and-rare-candies cheats: KIDS, STAY AWAY FROM ITEM RELATED CHEAT CODES!!!
Here's what happened when i bought 99 rare candies with my messed up item pocket:
The game crashed like 1 second later.
I hate these invisible items, But you could earn insane amounts of money by selling them!

You can ever sell your Cancel button.

When you scroll down below all these invisible items, they turn into Glitch items, all in 0 quantity. If you scroll down further, some other Glitch items appear, in insane quantities! If you try to use them, the menu gets screwed up, and the game usually crashes.

I think i'll stop now.

Using a cheat that changes your character to the "Fat man", i discovered some funny side effects. If you're in an area/room/cave where there's a ponytail-girl, you turn into a ponytail girl etc... It's funny that i even turned into Champion Lance once! While i was playing around in Digletts Cave (Without even beating a single Gym leader), my character turned into various glitchy stuff:

Also, my character got really glitchy in another occasion. When i walked up/foward, i was the Black-haired-guy going backwards. When i walked to the left/right, i was the old man etc... No pictures of that, though.
And then, some funny screenshots taken while using a code that lets you choose the level of wild pokemon (from 0 all the way up to 255 )
