Five (5) Winners who are members of Progarchives.com will receive: Copy of Zappa Plays Zappa DVD (ERV $24.98 per DVD) TO PARTICIPATE: Simply post a review of any album by Frank Zappa during the following period: Monday April 21st, until Friday May 9th 2008 to be eligible. THE WINNERS: Will be pick up randomly by M@X. and will receive their prize later, shipped from the ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA Promotion team themselves, on receipt of the shipping address. The winners list will be announced here. Good luck to all. On April 29th, Razor & Tie Entertainment will release ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA on DVD. The DVD features the music of the late, great Frank Zappa played by an expert ensemble headed up by Frank’s eldest son, Dweezil, an accomplished musician in his own right. The Zappa Plays Zappa DVD collection brilliantly commemorates the critically-acclaimed 2006 concerts which presented a collection of Frank Zappa’s rock-oriented compositions from the 1960s through the 1980s. Two of the ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA shows were pristinely filmed and recorded to capture the experience and the result is a double-DVD set with a 12-track bonus audio CD, hand-selected by Dweezil himself. The DVDs feature over three hours of performances. A limited edition fanpack will also be available which features the two-DVD set and three CDs containing the entire audio content, totaling 270 minutes. If Zappa has luck, the site will be flooded with reviews, that's a nice promotion.
but if the quality of the reviews is poor, than Zappa's pages will be messed with badly written reviews.

I let myself get suckered in to one of those, one positive thing did come of that, I joined BMG Music Club (not that) ordered my first Porcupine Tree, In Absentia, which hooked me on the band. Of course they didn't stock any more PT titles at that time, but I was more than happy to go exploring elsewhere. ------------- Released date are often when it it impacted you but recorded dates are when it really happened...

Apostrophe..................a Zappa album, which when listened to as presented on vinyl, kept your attention for an entire side. Unlike some other Zappa albums, which usually contain a bad song or two, this one actually holds together fairly well. And on a stereo capable of perfectly clear reproduction at 1000 watts per channel, it sounded great. I've only watched the first DVD of the set so far & I have to say I'm very favorably impressed; not quite sure what I was expecting, but it's quite a show! -------------

Fed-Ex dropped mine off today. I didn't realize I was in for a double DVD and a CD package. I am overwhelmed and very thankful. It's pretty good by the way. Dweezil certainly has his Dad's talent for playing guitar, the band's really good. I hope he has the same creativity to put out some original albums in the future of the same caliber as many of his Dad's. Big shadow to get out from under and big shoes to try and fill. Better yet, they're coming to Atlanta on tour June 12. Gongzilla, too, June 20. Mine came today. I only had time to watch dvd 1 and it's great. In the beginning I thought they were a bit stiff, but a couple of track in to the set they got better. The video and audio quality is superb and it's nice to have some killer music in this quality.
