I was listening back in the Golden Age.  I can't possibly remember that far back.

1998/1999 - Pink Floyd
For almost ten years, I have just listened to Pink Floyd in terms of progressive. So between 1999 and 2007, nothing about prog
In May 2007, when I was listening to classic rock (Hotel california by The Eagles), my Biology teacher stranged that I was listening to this 70's classic, and recomended me to listen to other progressive bands (Genesis and Yes for example), which I only knew by name, and I was almost promising myself to discover these bands. Since this event, I discovered all of the other bands I like in prog, including the giants I mentioned, some of them trough myself, using PA too, some old records that I had from my father collection, but that I have never listened to, and my teacher of course.Clap Thanks to all of them. This last year was really the best in my whole life in terms of music.Smile

I grew up with prog and really can't say; my parents were hippies and listened to all kind of stuff. they were especially fond of space and kraut, but generally anything which sounded good after a poke

This is a real hard one since I got started around 1978.  I can check my CD log to find artists that I discovered post July 1999.  Will try to stick to the officially recognized by this site.

Late '70's/Early '80's:
John Ambercrombie, Jan Akkerman, Jeff Beck, Captain Beefheart, Adrian Belew, Brand X, Bruford, Larry Coryell, Curved Air, Al Di Meola, Dixie Dregs, ELP, Brian Eno, Focus, Fred Frith Peter Gabriel, Genesis, Gentle Giant, Pierre Moerlen's Gong, Steve Hackett, Happy the Man, Jan Hammer, Allan Holdsworth, Jethro Tull, Jon and Vangelis, Kansas, King Crimson, Mahavishu Orchestra, Phil Manzanera, Pat Metheny, The Moody Blues, Nektar, Mike Oldfield, Oregon, Passport, Anthony Phillips, Pink Floyd, Jean-Luc Ponty, PFM, Return to Forever, Roxy Music, Terje Rypdal, UK, Utopia, Santana, Shakti, Sky, Starcastle, Synergy, Tangerine Dream, Steve Tibbetts, Triumvirat, Vangelis, Rick Wakeman, Weather Report, Yes, Frank Zappa and probably missing a few.

Once you start out with so many great artists and exclude stuff not officially prog look what happens.
Early '80's-1999: Kate Bush, The Doors, Gong (ala Allen), Kayak, Tony Levin, Marillion, The Residents, Soft Machine, Robert Wyatt.

Then -
1999: Nothing new after July.
2000: Nothing new.
2001: Nothing new.
2002: Nothing new.
2003: Nothing new.
Pretty much exploring artists already discovered or non-prog.

AOL Radio Progressive station started leading to a few new ones.
2004: Caravan, Djam Karet, Ozric Tentacles, Primus, Porcupine Tree.
2005: Hellborg + Buckethead + Shrieve (via Buckhead), Bass Communion, Blackfield, IEM, no-man (via Porcupine Tree), The Muffins

About everything that follows now courtesy of the Prog Archives.
2006: Radiohead, Spock's Beard, Explosions In The Sky, A Triggering Myth, The Flower Kings
2007: Pure Reason Revolution, Maserati (courtesy EITS), Mr. Bungle, Phideaux, Parallel Mind, The Reasoning, Talisma, The Pineapple Thief, No Sound
2008: Gongzilla

Whew!
