I think they're sorted by the time they came on the forum. Those who just entered the site appear at the end of the list.

descending order of last page opened on the forum by each user - which is why yours is always at the top.

It's probably easier to work it out by elimination. It;s not by collaboraotor number or alphabetical.
 
Might be by time of log in perhaps, or maybe totally random.

the other is possibly by login order - but if you logout and log back in again your position in the list doesn't change.

I didn't notice the other one, either. I was referring to the one at the bottom of the main forum window.
