I'm not going to bother emailing this to you simply because I can't be bothered... Basically you either check the thread or you don't.
Anyway;

I do not think the connection between Metropolis Part One and the Scenes From A Memory album are that strong personally although obvious titles like The Dance Of Eternity and Home do pop up in Part One I heard that the Part One was added as a joke and they only considered making a full album out of it based on the response from fans. As far as the story goes I think it's very unclear, unlike with The Wall by Pink Floyd I found myself really struggling to get to grips with what the hell was going on on S.F.A.M. and had to resort to reading up on the internet. That's not to say I don't like the album however.

Good luck with your course. I did Music Technology as an A Level at college too.

SFAM is produced in a completely different fashion than Metropolis the song, yes. This is mainly because by this point the band had complete control over everything they did, and were able to go all the way with the weirdness and progressiveness. The concept itself I don't think really continues all that much from the original song, and it is clearly a much darker and more intelligent stroyline than what the original song portrayed.
