Hi. my names adam. i'm currently studying music technology in college and i have chosen to do a project on Dream Theater. If you could offer any help on the song metropolis part 1 or the album metropolis part 2 i would appreciate it kindly. If anyone could answer this questionaire for me and post it to my email. that would also be appreciated. thank you

1. Yes, and for the worse - non-triggered drums aside...

2. No, the first Metropolis is very emotional and real, Part. 2 is overdone w**kery for the most part.

3. No, it's pretty open ended and confusing. If you ever get a chance to hear the commentary from the DVD where they played the whole album he explains the story a bit better.

4. No, it tells a story but not all that clearly. If you don't know what the story is wiki it.

What I got from the album just by listening to it was that this guy in modern times is reincarnated, and in his past life, he was murdered. Under hypnosis, he discovers the story of a girl who was unfairly taken away from everyone by this monster. After he comes out of it, he then begins to realize that he was actually not the girl, but the killer!

Then again, that is just guess work. I could be totally wrong, and frankly I could care less what the story 'actually' is. Although, if that IS the story, I have no idea how it relates to the first part...?
