this includes writing reviews, browsing the forum, posting in the forum, reading reviews, being a moderator, etc.
25-40 minutes for me.

More than 3 hours for more than 2 years. This had a negative effect on me so lately I've been reducing it to 25-45 minutes a day... except when I'm at home and have nothing to do. Like today...

I'm laidoff so I spend an average of an hour or so here a day (some days more if I get into heavy resdearch mode though). When I find a job I imagine that will change.

For some the question should be:
How much time per day do you NOT spend at PA in average?

I am online most of the time because of my work. I spent the past three years doing a PhD, and at the beginning of this month I went back to my office job, which means I am in front of a computer for hours on end... and of course PA is the place I visit most often. For me, it's not only a site dedicated to the music I love, but also a place where I feel I have friends, and even more than that.

Probably a lot more than 3 hours, considering i go to bed at 2 am on average at the moment.

I always log on from my work PC; generally I'm online for about 45 minutes or so before I start work & about the same at lunchtime - sometimes (such as now) I'l do a bit of a trawl after work too...

Actually there's a bit of truth in that. Abstrakt's greatest addiction is not spending much time on the forum, as spending it in a traditional way. And that traditional way includes arriving over the Velvet Room, saying "Good Mourning".
Now, if BJ-1 is not around when he does that, he'll rarely stay longer than 30 minutes online.
Repeating this 6 times a day, in this way, brings him to the 2-3 hours he mentioned...

same here, my conflict over being "devoted" here started since early 2006 in my family! right now, my parents don't even think I'm doing anything else but "Prog-Archiving", even when I'm not, actually, on PA. plus, all my irresponsible/lazy actions are reasoned in their heads by progging so much, in this place.
(which is partially true )
"did you learned for the test tomorrow?! of course you didn't. the forum can't teach you Nietzsche!!" "why doesn't your Czerny study sound perfectly accurate? you seem to be doing a flawless job typing reviews on the forum, without making mistakes!" "you got a B?! well, thank God you got five shiny stars on PA, as a member" "how about becoming a Brahms specialist and not just an Art Rock one, once and for all?!"
stuff like that

nothing.. consider over the last year I've taken maybe a month or two total off from the forum. Needing R&R from the non-stop hand to hand combat that is the life of a collab Factor in another month or two away from the computer when with Raff... damn.. that post count would be WAY up there hahhaha.

It's way too easy being absorbed by the vastness of the Archives. Can spend hours reading about bands, their musicians, their musicians projects, bands of other people involved in those projects...and so on and so on! Perhaps throw in a review from time to time. Way too addictive! But in an excellent way

Just try adding a double CD sampler to the site that has many artists playing short songs with long titles in languages you are not familiar with, that will push the hours way up there.

I think that's cause of where it's posted. Think about it, people who spend little time on the forums are less likely to spend time on General Polls than people who spend a lot of time on the forums, as it is a small sub-forum. I suspect that if you placed this poll in the Prog Music Lounge you would get different resutls.
Having said that, I am on this forum and I average probably less than 10 minutes a day at the moment.

About an hour a day....in March it will probably be only 30 minutes because of the "shred war"
After March I'll be making up by going on for about 2 hours a day.

Well at current, I think I average between 1 and a half hours to 3 hours a day on here, although I too are joining in on the "shred war", so for March, I will have the shred war, plus school study and I will begin teaching guitar, so definitely for March, It will probably be only 1 and half hours a day at most.
