Dear Forum,

The page for neo-progressive band Maze of Time has incorrect text. Instead of the attachment appropriate for publishing, the entire e-mail sent by the band was published, rendering some irrelevant text for this context. Find below a more appropriate text for publication;

Band page is: http://www.progarchives.com/artist.asp?id=3130

Thank you for helping us out! New album coming up later this spring!

/Alex

In October 2001 guitarist, composer and lyricist Robert I Edman grew weary of being the hired gun, playing other peoples stuff, as a designated guitarist for various productions. With a couple of other musicians he was at one point well on his way to the US west-coast, but folded as the headroom for originality and thinking-out-of-the-box musical experimentation was nonexistent in the mainstream pop-scene. Robert gathered two old friends to form an investigative trio in Stockholm, SWEDEN; bass player Janne Persson and drummer Thomas Nordh, to elaborate on a string of newly composed songs. In the search for additional fellow journeymen loony enough to take the less-traveled roads of progression and beyond, the trio was extended by keyboard jockey Alex Jonsson and for the first five years with guitarist and vocalist Christer Lindstroem – and the journey began.
Over time, the ideas and arrangements of MAZE OF TIME needed a sanity check, and a handful  tracks were recorded on tape known as "Under the Sun" which over the following year resulted in their first full-length album "Tales from the Maze", summarizing thre first five years of musical findings. With the warmth of analogue 70-ies, yet the steady beat of the 21:st century, MAZE OF TIME cordially welcomes you to join their musical journey.

Bio edited and updated.

Original bio for historical purposes:

The history of MAZE starts in 2001 when the guitarist/composer lyricist Robert I Edman grew weary of playing other peoples stuff as a designated guitarist for various productions. With a couple of other musicians he was at one point well on his way to the US west-coast, but folded as the headroom for originality and thinking-out-of-the-box musical experimentation was nonexistent in the mainstream pop-scene. Robert gathered two old friends to form an investigative trio in Stockholm, Sweden; bassplayer Janne Persson and drummer Thomas Nordh, to elaborate on a string of newly composed songs. In the search for additional fellow journeymen looney enough to take the less-traveled roads of progression and beyond, the trio was extended by keyboard jockey Alex Jonsson and for the first five years with guitarist and vocalist Christer Lindstroem – and the journey began.Over time, the ideas and arrangements of MAZE OF TIME needed a sanity check, and a few tracks were recorded on tape known as "Under the Sun" which over the following year resulted in their first full-length album "Tales from the Maze", summerizing six years of musical findings. With the warmth of analogue 70-ies, yet the steady beat of the 21:st century, MAZE OF TIME cordially welcomes you to join their musical journey on our debut CD entitled Tales From The Maze, released in 2006.
Influences:
Closest of all is probably early GENESIS stuff like Selling England, Yes' Trick of the Tail, whereas recent groups now acting similar to our sound is SPOCK'S BEARD, FLOWER KINGS, LIKE WENDY, MARILLION. So I'd say we're more neo-progressive than symphonic, but we share many virtues, such as lush keyboards, the poetic lyrics, the long tracks et cetera.
About the distribution on a Dutch label:
Well, we distributed the demo "Under the Sun" which was basically three tracks from the Tales album, but recorded with less equipment on an old reel-to-reel 8-track tape recorder. Weirdly enough, just about everyone we sent it to wanted to do a recording with us. Most of them said "record five more tracks, mix it, master it, make the artwork and come back", whereas the Dutch guys said "come on down, bring your instruments and we'll do the rest" and they would still give us about the same deal per record sold as the other record companies. So we signed with them. They are small and have a minimalistic back catalogue, but are helpfull, fair and keep transparent books so we feel confident with their business (which is pretty unique in the industry, I think). I've been looking for you review, but only learn from a forum discussion that you have a great time with friends at an Amsterdam pub. It's been a while since I visited the "Melkweg" and I long to soon again come down and enjoy the Dutch hospitality we like so very much.
Future:
In January 2008 the mazekeepers will strike again, with a darker, more 'PORCUPINE TREE'-ish album with the project name "Lullaby for Heroes". You'll like it!
