well i know that i have promised to review this for quite a long time. i have had this album for months and i guess it's time for a review of it. (just for flavor i will compare these songs to their live counterparts from yessongs. and |

Their best album. Like most pre 'Going for the one' Yes albums, this takes several spins to get into, but certainly not as many as TFTO or Relayer. ------------- Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy! |

Yes is a great band. Fragile is much better than CTTE, as is relayer. CTTE is good but a bit overrared. ------------- Dig me...But don't...Bury me I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

'Close to the edge', is a GREAT album, definately among the best three of the group. My personal best, is of course 'Fragile', but of course, to each their own. |

Fragile will always be my favourite for sentimental reasons mainly - it was my first Yes album I bought (1975 I believe ) I did not really hear CTTE until many years later. While I like CTTE heaps, Fragile is a-------------

I tried to write a review for CTTE, but words can't describe this album, absolutely brilliant. I'll try again tomorrow, maybe I'll stop at 15 words If 100 stars could be given it still wouldn't do justice to this album. |

Close to the Edge is actually a solid 3-star recording, nothing more. As a piece of music it's hugely over-rated. Fragile is lots better! |
