I just had an idea today: what would be your choice for a band made of pensioners? requirement to be a member would be to have reached the age of 65 (and still be alive, of course). at the moment only 3 prog musicians come to my mind. interestingly all 3 of them have a quirky kind of humor, so this would probably be a funny and weird band.

Daevid Allen (just turned 70): guitar and vocals
Holger Czukay (will be 70 in March): bass, electronics, vocals
Mani Neumeier: (turned 67 on new Year's Eve): drums, percussion, vocals

and the name of the band: We Die on Stage!

^ I'd pay to see that Clap

We are going to have to wait a few more years before our beloved Prog heroes reach retirement age, most are around the 60 mark, with Kevin Ayers coming closest at 64.

Paul McCartney is 65
John McLauglin is 66
John Cale is 67

but the oldest I can think of is Phil Shulman at 71

I would actually prefer to watch that "We die on stage" show with Dreamtheater or those Flower Kings as protagonists.

Can't think of many myself. Your trio would be great, but Arthur Brown (65) might do an even better job on vocals.

(Roger Chapman is also 65)

well, let's throw Arthur in. he would perfectly fit with the rest of the weirdos. Chapman, however, would somehow be out of place in that band, as much as I like him.
and since we don't have a keyboarder yet, let's throw in Irmin Schmidt of Can too. he will be 71 in May

What, Daevid Allen is 70? ShockedShockedShockedShockedShocked

He looked so lively when I saw him on stage with Gong some 5 years ago, and he must have been 65 then. Amazing! What a stage presence at that age!

Well, then he's certainly in my band. He may play then with other wonderboys Brian Wilson (65 years) and Phil Shulman, who I think is (was?) very creative as well. Phil Spector (66) may produce the band.

I would call it The Senior Wonderboy Band.
