Hello, No sure it's the good forum to come...My problem is the following : I've just acquired the remastered version of this fabulous album, but the release notes of the CD are very poor : I should like to know where and when these were played; I just know it's was during the Fragile and Close To The Edge tours, no more... Can somebody help me or tell me where I can get these informations? | Yessongs is a "greatest hits" album off the first two Yes albums that includes a couple of extra tracks. The only song with the "classic" Yes line up is the cover of the Paul Simon song "America." |

You're wrong, Everyone - "Yessongs" is a live album recorded during the "Close to the Edge" tour - I don't know where or when it was recorded (as far as I know, at least three different concert recordings were used, and there's a rumour that lots of instrumental passages and vocal harmonies were overdubbed). yes.. Everyone.. you sort of screwed the pooch there  . .it is a live album.. you might want to listen to an album first before commenting hahhahah. I've found references to 4 different shows that songs were taken from.

Piecing bits of information together, the bulk of the album was recorded in North America and White stated he had been in the band about 3 months when it was recorded so I guess that would place it on the Autumn North American 1972 tour. If you check here http://forgottenyesterdays.com/tour_listing.asp?s=5&tname=4&SortBy=tDate&so=asc&navb=4 - http://forgottenyesterdays.com/tour_listing.asp?s=5&tname=4&SortBy=tDate&so=asc&navb=4 you'll notice some dates are marked with official recordings available. No doubt they will be the ones used on Yessongs. If you hunt a bit further here no doubt you'll be able to find the dates Bruford played on.

You're right Chopper, when he joined he did only have a few days to learn the set before the first gig but Yessongs was recorded on the following visit to North America. They did a summer tour there, then a short European tour then back to the states in the Autumn.
They were back there again the follwing spring too!
