According to the press release, a live album is due in April. This is good, because it suggests they will revamp the set list from last time (which was great, but I like some variety, too).

Also, according to a statement from Neil on his website, a live DVD of the tour will be available, filmed in Rotterdam if I am not mistaken.

I'm not thrilled with their choice of venue here in Detroit. I would have much preferred to see them at the Palace or outdoors at DTE Energy again. Being at Joe Louis Arena on June 10th is going to interfere with the Red Wings' Stanley Cup playoffs run. Probably won't stop me from going to see them however since beggars can't be choosers.

Yes, there will be a DVD - I was there when they recorded it, think I mentioned it in the Rush in Rotterdam thread at the time. You all get to see me on it, if all goes well

Summerfest? in Milwaukee. Yikes, I find that slightly depressing. I used to go there with my parents as a kid and it was a place that old has beens played (I saw Kenny Loggins there ) Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing them at the Xcel again.

Okay, I feel better now. Apparently Rush is playing the Ampitheater and not some free concert. Other acts on the same stage as Rush that are playing the same festival are Tool, Roger Waters and Bon Jovi. Also, some newer acts like the Fray and Panic at the Disco and Ludacris (he may not be new, but in relative terms), Toby Keith. You get the idea.

We have that beautiful new Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City, and they have it at Starlight. Starlight is a cool outdoor theater, but weird that they're having it down there.
Have to make it out there to see them again.

I'm also surprized to see that when they come to KC they're going to have the show at Starlight. I saw them when they came here this past Aug (my 2nd time). If the rumors are true about Yes touring again I won't be going to see Rush too....money is tight.

There was once a time where they had a pattern of releasing a live album after every third album. After the third album, they would in a sense change their sound for a three album period and then release another third album. Nowadays, they seem to be releasing more live albums than studio albums. Not really a complaint though, more opportunities to hear more songs live.

usually after every fourth rush, fly by night, caress, 2112 - then all the world's farewell, hemispheres, permanent, moving pictures - exit stage left signals, grace, power windows, hold your fire - show of hands presto, roll the bones, counterparts, test - different stages
since then I think Neil bought a DV cam and Alex got a mini-disc recorder...

Thanks for the correction. I knew there was a pattern. Guess I should have double checked before typing.

Since they play certain cities for the second time on this tour, my guess is they'll change it quite a lot, but they'll keep playing as much stuff from Snakes&Arrows... Who knows, we may finally get to hear The Camera Eye live at long last !!!

I got my tix for the Holmdel, NJ show! 2 Rush concerts in 2 years, can't beat it!
But I am pretty disappointed with this 'pre' sale. I was still only able to get seats in the 3rd section from the stage, and not for cheap either! How is a 'regular' guy supposed to get good seats for a concert? It seems like they don't even sell them through public means.
I even tried to get 1 ticket in the good seats just to see if it was a quantity thing. I got 1 seat in the back of the 2nd section from the stage, feh.

I like Rush, my stepson and his Dad are fanatics. According to them, Rush was the first concert at the Joe when it opened way back when, so it is a sentimental choice. I can't see any other reason it would be there, I can't remember the last time a concert was there instead of the Palace, if it had to be indoors.
I doubt it will interfere with the Wings though, they are having way to good a regular season to still be playing in June.
