Cobham,Laird, Hammer, Goodman and McLaughlin vs Livgren, maybe Walsh, perhaps Steinhart but Hope, Ehart are an average rhythm section. Mahavishnu wins, this playoff.

I would beg to differ - by a LONG shot. Come on, McLaughlin played at Woodstock with Miles Davis in Bitches Brew. Jazz/fusion musicians take the cake for best musicianship as an overall genre I think, especially compared to the competent Kansas. All hail Mahavishnu Orchestra!

...hmm, Kansas vs Mahavishnu... they are very different things...

Let's say Kansas.

(on about jazz-rock I prefer Return to Forever and Di Meola... and Macedonian Leb i Sol).

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
