Is there a similar site to Prog Archives for Popular Music ? There are times when I am interested in viewing artists in the same way as I can in Prog Archives for artists like David Bowie, Neil Young etc

You might try AllMusic.com, which is a database for every kind of music. The entries for well-known artists are quite thorough, and the bios can be very good indeed.
