Indeed I hope there is no one in the world who will choose any of the first three options.

Teehee! Look, the selections make a staircase!

I may have gone lower on the scale before the last weekend of June, but seeing them live changed everything.

I wont lie and say I choose them over Jesus, but three whole freakin lots will do (for now), I still only have one album, but not for long!

Then you've obviously learned NOTHING from Magma, as you must understand the SPIRITUAL aspect of the music to understand the music overall.  Nebehr Gudahtt preached that you must embrace Kreuhn Kohrmahn and leave your petty Earthling spiritual beings behind, as they lead only to your doom.

No sir!  Read some Vander interviews; all of the lyrics are based upon Vander's spiritual visions (though, interestingly enough, more of the music takes place on Earth than on Kobaia).

I think I'm gonna form the Church of Kobaia, dedicated to the worship of Kreuhn Kohrmahn by following the words of Nebehr Gudahtt and through the singing of Da Zeuhl Wortz, the sacred music.

What a stupid poll. It's obvious that nobody would ever choose to be something like this. It must loathe its own existence every second of its waking life.

Don't they use magmanites in metal detectors? I hate those things! Once I went to the library to return some CD's and the gate beeped, and I'm telling you this has happened more than once! Bloody magmanites, get them off those security gates destroying citizens' lives! I shan't vote in this ridiculous poll! Angry

¿Isn't magmanite a POKEMÓN?... anyway, Magma is... the only thing near to a description is to say how good is the band's choice for a name. (More than lots.).

My only foray into magmaism is lost somewhere between the Caimen offices in sunny California and my house in rainy windy Albion. Whenever it deems to arrive I will let you know my honest opinion and signify my voting pleasure by voting in the appropriate manner. By my calculation it is a week late, which probably means that there is a distinct possiblity that there are Kobaïan-trained sniffer dogs employed at UK Customs and Excercise to route out said item and retain it for their own listening pleasure. Who knows? Not I.

Also, with the new regulations from gold/silver, Magnemite is part steel type. Steel is weak against fire. Charizard is win.

Magmanite would win by putting on MDK and distracting Charizard.  Then they would sit in Magmenite's basement and chill for awhile.

With a thread with choices like that, I wanted to play it safe, y'know? We STC-ers have already gotten strike 1. Didn't want to risk anything.

Though I have a t-shirt with 'Nordkapp' written on it. I got it in Nordkapp, you see.

The word hoser is in the canadian dictionary. It's just another name for "a stupid fellow" more or less. Bob and Doug used it excessively.

Otis I can live with, once the Zeuhl bass kicks in (especially the live version from Bobino). Call From The Dark (Ooh Ooh Baby) tries even my patience, however.

But yes, in general I like Magma quite a lot.

Look, we are barely accepting the idea that Kobaia exists, quit trying to make us believe there is a Canada too.

Vander's drumming on MDK is almost inaudible.  His drumming on virtually every other Magma album is dominant in its awesomeness, but on MDK it's incredibly undermixed.  You missed them in the states; I saw 'em in June.  They kicked ass.

Saw them a couple of years ago. They really are 'dynamite'. I have the impression that all their 70s albums have production deficiencies. Do you agree ? I think Magma could do with a serious re-mastering of their albums !

Posted By: Shakespeare
Date Posted: October 20 2007 at 12:30
MDK was dreadful to say the least. The debut wasn't quite as horrid. That's all I've heard for now, but I have the rest of their 70s catalog arriving on Monday.

Date Posted: October 20 2007 at 18:26
I have a (bootleg) track of the original mix of side one of MDK, before the drumming got decimated and the choir added.  It was much, MUCH better than the LP/CD version.
