So I've been watching both on youtube and comparing/contrasting.  Which for you? Fish (aka Derek Dick) or Robert Wyatt (aka Bob).

I'd try to write something interesting myself, but I'm taking a break from a big writing project.

Fish is a highly talented epigone.
Wyatt is a true original!

Robert Wyatt is arguably even more well known though.

Oh and he's a damn site more talented than Fish as well.  A true master of music and a one off original.

I'd go so far as call him a genius.

Robert Wyatt is the more original and versatile - he's been influential as a drummer in Soft Machine and Matching Mole, as a singer/songwriter, as a vocalist (his voice pretty much defines the Canterbury style), as an interpreter of other people's songs and as a philosopher of jazz and dadaism.

Fish isn't to be underestimated - he's a strong vocalist, an interesting lyricist and pretty much spearheaded the resurgence of prog in the 80s, but he's nowhere near as original or versatile as Wyatt.
