This is where we greet each other for various reasons - like especially birthdays - or make public announcements and calls for celebration. We were needing such a general thread that would stick up instead of numerous short lived threads.
I'll start by congratulating Sean Trane for his 44th birthday: Happy Birthday, long live Hugues!

I'll have to congratulate you on this too. I have a friend who's a smoker, and I've been trying to convince him to quit for years but with no luck, so I understand how hard it is. Congratulations!

I was out all day kayaking on our Semois river (where they grow real tobacco and "the other one" aswell) deep in the Ardennes.
This was the first beautiful day out in three to four weeks, dipping my lips into Orval trappist beer (brewed some 20 kms from here) with a bunch of friends. The Mechoui (piglet on a fire)is about to start.
Prog playing loud (Circus' Movin On right now), woman shedding layers (yesterday: 14°, today 28°), and I'm turning yet another page.
Beers, Sun, prog, food and promiscuous women a gogo!!! All this for me? I'll have to share!!! Thanks everyone!!! Hugues

Friday. Rain, low temperatures; so I'll make orange pancakes and wait for girlfriend to come back home from work; we'll read a bit, eat the pancakes and start enjoying a perfect winter weekend by doing NOTHING at all. Cheers for love.

Actually, Jesus was probably born sometime in the summer, so Andrea probably is close to his actual birthday.
Easter??? No, that was the day that Jesus invented the colored hard-boiled egg. Don't you people know anything?

Well, December 25 is the traditional day of celebration of the birthday of Jesus (probably because it coincided with the pagan winter solstice festival), but a date for his birth is never actually set in the bible. But based on certain things said in the bible, a lot of scholars believe that he was actually born sometime in the summer (late June I think, but I'm not sure on that point).
Easter is the day that Jesus supposedly resurrected after his crucifixion. Hope that explains it.
