I really don't pay any attention to most of these people. Wayne Shorter can smoke on his sax though.

Didn't Eddie Jobson played with Zappa in the New York live album?

About the poll, I can´t decide...

Andy Latimer (Flute) - Camel.

Jerry Goodman (Violin) - Mahavishnu Orchestra.

Actually, Ponty's best playing is on Mahavishnu's "Visions of the Emerald Beyond."

Argh...David Cross vs. Mel Collins. I can't deny either of them the vote, but Mel has to win for the sheer number of prog albums he's graced. Then again, Ian's flute playing is legendary and instantly recognizable. Umm...too hard. Can't vote.

Well, of your choices i struggle between Jackson and Anderson. Both are superb in thier work. But, being you have percussions down there i would like to suggest having Ruth Underwood in there. Fantastic stuff from her.
