I was trying to review Symphony X(Prog Metal)'s new CD Paradise Lost when I submited and the following error was reported:

ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

/post_rateit.asp, line 14

What happened? Can anyone help me out?

I've tried various times already.Dead

Thanks

I hope you wrote your text in a Word document, didn't you?

Going to report the problem but I think if you have the text yet you should try again using the copy/paste facility.

Have you tried reviewing any other albums since? If so, were they OK?

I got the same error here now...

Is it for the same album?

Same here. Firefox at least gives this error, IE7.0 does not even give a message, except for "page not found". Interesting, also the comment received when I reported the error;

Hi, jeromach,

With the new database it's impossible to add manually a review. Sorry.

Anyway, I checked and found no problem with your account... why don't you try again?

Let me know if the problem persists.

Just to clarify the message you got, Atkingani was saying that he cannot add the review for you now (we in the Admin team used to be able to).

Can I just ask again, is this problem peculiar to one album, or are many albums affected?

I'm getting this error, too. It's extremely frustrating. I spent nearly two hours writing a review only to discover I can't post it. It's a good thing I saved it or I'd be furious.

Obviously, this error has been going on for some time now. Where are the site admins to fix it? What good is an interactive web site that solicits reviews from fans if we can't post to it?

Come on, guys! Get your poop in a group!

I've been trying to post reviews and keep getting Internal Server Error HTTP500 coming up when I click on submit.  The implication is that its a problem at your end, but other people are clearly not having the problem. Any ideas?

If you're referring to my post, the answer is no, I'm not trying to review the same album. I'm trying to review Everwood's The Raven's Nest CD.

It appears this error is popping up a lot for a lot of people. Any idea when you'll have the problem fixed so we can post reviews?

Bill

Apparently, many albums are affected. Perhaps all. I haven't tried to review anything else. But reading the posts from people, I'm assuming it's more than one album.

Any ideas what's causing this problem?

I'm using a Mac (OSX) and Firefox 2.0.0.4, the latest version. But I get the same error message everyone else appears to be getting.

I'll ask mailto:M@x - M@x , the webmaster, to have a look.

Please endeavour to provide as much detail as possible when reporting such issues.

For additional clearings, "jeromach" not only reported the error but also asked if we could add his review manually, an impossible task currently.

Hi,

Submitting a review somehow is not working; Firefox quits with following message;

ADODB.Field error '800a0bcd'

Either BOF or EOF is True, or the current record has been deleted. Requested operation requires a current record.

/post_rateit.asp, line 14

IE mentions there being an internal server error.

I tried to post following review at Captain Beefheart - I may be hungry but sure ain't weird, perhaps you can add it manually (rating 4).

That's the error message I get when I try to submit my review. It can't be FireFox because I tried to do with with Safari. Neither one works. I simply can't post a review to your site.

Since this has been going on for 2-3 days, with numerous people noting it's occurrence, I'm sure we'll all be quite relieved when the bug is fixed so that more reviews can be posted.

Thanks for looking into it for us.

Cheers,

Bill

Hi,

According to my count, about 3-4 different albums noted above in this thread.

The one I'm trying to review is Everwood's The Raven's Nest.

I've been trying for two days. I keep getting the error message I noted above.

Many thanks to the crew of ProgArchives. The bug that kept me from being able to post my review of Everwood's The Raven's Nest has been fixed. My review is posted!

Now, I'll add my two cents to the new Dream Theater CD...

Thanks!

Hey, ProgHead2007, I saw your Everwood's review... is it working now? Smile

Good new PH, have others had any success yet?

Our webmasters have the follwing suggestion:
suggest to santiagoss.2 to logout the site (using the logout link in the album/reviews page or to go to this URL : http://www.progarchives.com/Logout.asp), and login again so it will reinitialize his cookie that can be corrupt for whatever reason.

My problem remains the same.  I have tried posting reviews on Trick Of The Tail and Marillion's Brave albums, but when I click on submit I get a page which says: " Internal Server Error HTTP 500. The website cannot display the page. Most likely causes: the website is under maintenance, or the website has a programming error"!

I just tried to write a review and submit it, but i got the following error:

Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server error '80040e14'

Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'AND'.

/post_rateit.asp, line 42

If anyone could help, it would be appreciated. I didn't save it before hand. If it helps, it was Traffic's Low Spark

No comments on informing me that a review can't be added manually. Although that would seem to me to be possibly technically, I can't have a look in your kitchen, so accepted, reply appreciated.

Only on a technical error telling me "try again" irritated me. I already tried it a couple of times before reporting the problem, both with IE7.0 and Firefox 2.0.0.4 and although the message was different (internal server error on IE and ADODB.Field error on Firefox) the result was the same, I could not post the review.

Now to answer the question if this error occurred at an attempt for another album; I do not know, since I did not try. Logically though it seems likely to conclude that it is not album related, since I'm not the only one facing this error.

By the way, just tried it again, both with IE and Firefox; same problem.

Btw, no offense guys, I hope the problem can be solved.

Jeroen
