I'm interested in knowing everyone's current favorite albums. Now, granted we all have albums that we consider our 'all-time' most favorite albums, but I want to know what's your music addiction right now?

For me it's:

and you?

Hmm that's a tough one it's safe to say that Fear of a Blank Planet by PT is one current favourite but another is hard to choose, probably Speak by No-Man or Pawn Hearts by VDGG.

I just got Aqualung by Jethro Tull a few days ago and haven't been able to stop listening to it. Wind Up strikes me as terribly profound.

My current favorite albums are:

Porcupine Tree - Stupid Dream
Porcupine Tree - Deadwing
Porcupine Tree - Fear of a Blank Planet

I suppose there's a common theme running through those Embarrassed.
(I'm getting myself psyched up & prepared for the May 19th show in NYC)
(And, I'm particularly addicted to Anesthetize off of FOABP. Possibly the best song ever created)

From the proggy-but-not-prog side of things, here are some other albums I've been addicted to recently:

Katatonia - The Great Cold Distance
The Beatles - Abbey Road (particularly the side 2 medley)

Mostly jazz rock/fusion featuring Elton Dean or Keith Tippett for me.

I'm really delving into my Canterbury and Jazz Rock/Fusion at the moment.

Bone - Uses Wrist Grab is also an album I cannot get enough off and I can also feel a Soft Mountain and Le Silo bias coming on soon.

Master, you're listening to Yugen! Fabulous! Love this one (even wrote a review for it here).
Not familiar with Sound Horizon. How's it like?

Once I submitted Sound Horizon for PA but it seems to be rejected on data base. Cry
Sound Horizon was started by multi-instrumentalist Revo in 2001. This music is, so to say, not depressed Devil Doll + Novela-ish progressive hard rock + pop rock + jazz + progressive folk rock + main stream symphonic rock... Confused Because of starting as dojin music (see it please, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dojin_music - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dojin_music ), Sound Horizon was noticed by animation and game music fans in the early period. Gradually the name became to be known by fans of other genres. Chronicle 2nd is remaking album of 1st album ''Chronicle''. However it is also entirely different album from Chronicle. Because Aramary didn't sing on original one. Chronicle 2nd enormously features her song and talk. It made Chronicle 2nd greater masterpiece than 1st album. Elysion was released by major label. Progressive rock magazine Euro Rock Press positively reviewed it. But it was also Aramary's last album. She left Sound Horizon one year after this release. The latest album Roman includes Hasegawa Atsushi and Fujimoto Kenichi (Gerard) as support musicians.
SH's albums are highly story-oriented also composed as suite music.
*Similar groups / artists; uuuuuu, what is similar to it .... Devil Doll is very far. Smile Teru's Symphonia may be a little close to SH. Marge Litch may be also a little close ... Embarrassed I recommend Aramary's period (especially, Chronicle 2nd and Elysion - Rakuen ~).
By the way, can you imagine a bit of SH's music ? I'm afraid it makes you confuse. EmbarrassedConfused

Last night I listened to Tarot by Walter Wegmuller 3 times in a row (but I skipped the corny "introduce the band" jam that starts the album).

I've been listening to mostly avant stuff, specifically Shining - Grindstone, Estradasphere - Palace of Mirrors, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum - In Glorious Times (which is fantastic by the way), and Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante.

This is rather odd for me as I'm usually much more into easy listening music like Symphionic Prog and Progressive Folk. For some reason the only Symphonic band I can tolerate at the moment is After Crying, a new discovery for me. I'm really loving "Overground Music".

JEFFREY LUCK LUCAS - What We Whisper

I've found myself giving this album a few listens as of late...and I rarely give albums repeat listens unless they really impress me.

Transatlantic - Bridge Across Forever.
I simply love this album and can't get it out of my CD player. I need to go back and listen to the first again.

Evergrey- In Search of Truth
I just got this actually and am enjoying it way more than Recreation Day. I know I'll get blasted for this but I enjoy EG's latest effort MMA a great deal and ISoT kind of conveys a similar focus on simplicity. Mark of the Triangle has to be one of the best in the band's library.

Others include Octavarium, Dissonance Rising, Remedy Lane and Space Revolver.

Nursery Cryme - always, Nursery Cryme!  It's a current favorite; it's a long-time favorite (first got it back in the late 1970s).  And I am sure it will continue to be a forever favorite!

For me... well not too much, except at work, where I find myself listening to Soft Machine - Third and Van der Graaf Generator - Still Life a lot (both original CD copies, rather than remasters, which always stay at home!),

As for normal listening, I plan to listen to more Guapo, as they're amazing, as well as Ahvak and Lacrymosa.  Nothing has greatly excited me for a while, besides Lacrymosa, but I am sure the others new listens will sink in eventually.

I also continue to listen a lot to Graham Collier Sextet and Soft Machine.

Just going through a female fronted goth metal phase at the moment. Nightwish and Epica I've listened to for a while and are superb, but recently added Within Temptation, Autumn and (when it arrives) Sirenia.
