These are my all time favorite Proto Kaw songs.
Which one would you pick? (I find it too difficult to pick just one)

Axolotl... a fantastic song! Clap

My second choice should be Incomudro, not in your list, WS. Smile

"Leaven" of the ones listed, but I agree with Guigo that Proto-Kaw's version of "Incomudro" is great. So is "Belexes", which is pretty close to one of my favorite Livgren compositions ever .

The live version of "Skont" from the Wait of Glory DVD is very good too.

No Skont or Osvaldo? I chose Theophany.

Axolotl is fantastic, though Theopany is great epic and other songs from BBA are very good as well.
When the Rains Come is for me the best from new album (along with Osvaldo's Groceries:)

Sadly the only song I have heard from Proto-Kaw is Leavin', but if the rest of their work is this good then I need to get their albums.

"Leaven" is my absolute favourite. The ethnic and folk influences are abstolutely stunning, the melodies are splendid. "Before became after" is my favourite album of the post 2000 years....

I think Incomudro is a Kansas song in SFA...

I really like 'Axolotl'. It reminds me of one of my all time favourite Kansas songs, 'The Wall'. 'Before Became After' is a very enjoyable album indeed- I recently picked it up and it's had a fair few plays.

Proto-Kaw also recorded "Incomudro" (I really don't know if it's originally their song). IMO, the Proto-Kaw version is better than Kansas'. Smile

The PK version was the original, but I have to say I prefer the Kansas version; I hate how Meredith does the vocals, there's no violin, and the last verse is just a repetition of the first. I think it was just simply unfinished when PK recorded it.

THEOPHANY!! THAT'S THE MOST GORGEUS LIVGREN COMPOSITION FOR THE PROTO-KAW CATALOGUE... in my humble opinion, of course. Disapprove
