Two great Queen's prog pieces. Which one do you prefer?
My vote goes to The Prophet's Song!

Bohemian Rhapsody is a great song, but it's over played. I think prophet song has an unfair advantage in this poll because of BR's popularity.

Both are amazing, but I like The Prophet's Song better.

Of the two, Bohemian Rhapsody wins the game, but The Prophet's Songs is also superb!!

In fact, A Night at the Opera is their Best album ever!!

Bohemian Rhapsody is the best prog song ever, Queen is one of the best art rock bands ever and any of the "Queen II", "A Night At The Opera" and "A Day At The Races" could easily be in the Top10...

Both are lovely, but The Prophet's Song doesn't get the attention it deserves, so I voted for it.

Bohemian Rhapsody, hands down. It's not prog IMO, but very innovative, daring and totally beyond any categorisation. Totally inspired and just - perfect.

´` Maybe because other bands certainly wish to have been able to write at least one of those songs in their entire career?
I fell in love with Bohemian Rhapsody first, but after I bought the album, The Prophet's Song absolutely amazed me. I remember that when I was in the army I played TPS to a couple of guys and one of them, a really down to earth type, simply got blown away and I think he might have gotten into prog that night.

I voted "The Prophet's Song". Bohemian Rhapsody doesn't really have too much happening in it. It all seems to build up to a frankly disappointing guitar riff.

It's fascinating how different we all seem to perceive music.
Well, of course if one only knows Bohemian Rhapsody from Wayne's World, that person could think that it's all just an intro for the guitar riff.

What dissappoints me a bit about Bohemian Rhapsody is not the riff
itself, but the fact that it's too short. Way too short.

Bohemian Rhapsody was a landmark recording, all the more so for the fact it went straight to the UK number one slot & stayed there for (I believe ) 9 weeks - helped in no small way by the now iconic video.
Personally, though, my favorite has always been 'The Prophet Song'; the brilliance of its writing & production propel it way ahead of the rest of the album (which in my opinion was the peak of Queen's creativity).

Definetly The Prophet's Song! Mercurys delayeffects are priceless and untouchable. Bohemian Rhapsody is a bit overplayed, yes.

BR is overplayed, but The Prophet's Song tends to drag, though it is still Freddie's third greatest vocal performance behind Somebody to Love and BR.

Voted for Prophet's song. It's prog, it's heavy-metal but it's not prog-metal!
One more thing:It's impossible to tell where the Prophet's Song is ending and where the next track is beginning! I never heard any other song ending so smoothly!

I voted for "Bohemian" : I guess that it is the most emblametic Queen song.
I like "The Prophet's Song" a lot though.
Cheers.

Well said. The prophet's song is easily in my top 5 favorite Queen songs. Especially that vocal delay/loop effect section.

prophet's song. very underplayed. delay singing is amazing, the way he makes a sentence of off beat and on beat echoing that overlap to say,"I hear you, come here". its genious.

I could repeat almost everything mentioned above ... concerning The Prophet's Song! TPS is prog IMO, very innovative, daring and totally beyond any categorisation. Totally inspired and just-perfect.
But this "victory" is not hands down, because both songs come very close to my all time fave.

Bohemian Rhapsody is a conceptual masterpiece. The Prophet's Song is still great, but didn't enthrall me as long as BR has.

The Prophet Song for mine! ...and that's evened it up again at 22 a piece
I think both are great but TPS is tops.
I suppose I should mention I'm old enough to have seen Queen on their A Night At The Opera tour when I was still at school Are you jealous
