Topic: Prog Link Game
Posted By: yarstruly
Subject: Prog Link Game
Date Posted: November 16 2006 at 12:20

1st....I apologize if a similar game is here already, but I didn't noice one in the past month or so in the "Just For Fun" forum....If such a game exists here, feel free to ditrect me to it & I won't be offended.....

I have done similar games on other forums, and they have been popular, but I want to try it in a more Prog-Focused way here.....(Using prog in the broadest possible sense)....

Here is how it works:

As an example, I will start with the statement:
"Bill Bruford played with Yes."

Then the next person to post can take a link from that fact to another prog artist...some sort of a tangible connection to another band/artist, etc...such as:

"Bruford also played with King Crimson"

The next person will take a link from there (something to do with KC), and so on....

A link could be that a person played in one band and then another, opening acts/toured together, someone produced someone else, appearing on a tribute album together or a guest appearance on someone's album, so and so covered a song by...., or such and such wrote  a song for...etc.....

(Lets try not to stretch it too far, like, Jon Anderson & Ian Anderson have similar names, or Geddy Lee & Chris Squire both have used Rickenbacker basses, or Rush & Triumph are both Canadian.....

Also, try not to lead people to the next link such as...."Steve Howe is in Yes and played on the Queen tracke called....."

Feel free to ask if I am not clear or if there is something you may not quite understand about how the game works (email if you like: mailto:[email protected] - [email protected] )

OK lets pick it up from my example....

Bruford also played with King Crimson
