Just saw Bill Bruford at Stuart Thomas Manner on Lo ng Island New York, PACKED Drum Clinic in like a wedding dining hall...so nice.

Bill came out and had a huge screen behind him on which he played clips of YES from the very early 70's (Astral Traveler classic video, and Perpetual Change video, so classic!!!), King Crimson Larks Tongues BBC classic video from like 1972, Genesis Cinema Show seconds out tour where he played with Collins, his band doing Beelzebub, and him in 2002 doing some jazzy thingy.

It was spectacular!  He just got up there, talked for approx 2 and a half hours while getting on his set and playing, showing the audience tricks, talking about his life and how he learned to play and crap.  All for $10! Awesome!

I thought you guys miught like this; After he showed the video of larks tongues part II, he got on the mic and said "Terrifying, isnt it?"

hahahha!  Such a great time, wish I had my camera, didnt know it was going to be ANYTHING like what it was.

Hes such a nice, friendly guy too!  He was just so chill, and WOULD NOT stop talking and being so friendly with the audience it was great...

Just wanted to let yall know!  Check him out if you have a chance its really great!!

Bill Bruford will be at our DrumFest this week end ( Montreal) on sunday. Unfortunatly, he won't play for 2 1/2 hours long, but between from 40 minutes to 1 hour. I am supposed to meet the guy. At least, we know that this guy is nice and friendly.
I will bring my camera, and post some pictures if they are good.

Thanks for this review.

He is probably even nicer than Dave Lambert if that is possible.  he was so kind, and met EVERYONE and gave autographs and even had a raphel!

But, my sister was sick and very tired so we had to leave once it was basically over.  Such a great show though!

Bill is a top guy, I can vouch for this personally. A tip for all about to meet him - concentrate your questions on the very early years or the very recent ones. The prog stuff will come naturally to him anyway.

I finally saw Bruford at the DrumFest and I met him after the gig, and I have a picture taken with him backstage. The problem with his gig; too short. At the DrumFest, the gigs are 40-45 minutes. He played many style of music, from jazz, to jazz fusion and prog.of course. We heard some UK and some King Crimson. The venue was fulled for Bruford performance. Mr.Bruford was very happy to be back in Montreal. He knows many people in our town. Very great and interesting prestation. I have pictures taken, you can see them on the thread The DrumFest.
