Right on the mark Ivan.

All discussion is usefull, it's just the argumentation we need to stop.

Arguments are to be avoided, there always vulgar and often convincing. - Oscar Wilde

Arguments are to be avoided, theyre just ways to cloud the initial intend of the statement.

Discussion is to be encouraged, don't stifle it. Who knows where it will lead?

If there's a subject you don't want to discuss, just ignore it!

Yes, very much so.

ivan, I have no intention of trying to stop discussion, just my silly little joke  This debate comes around on a weekly basis. I have no problem with Radiohead either, for the record.

I think there place in the archives is perfectly reasonable.

Good call Blacksword. There's loads of stuff in the archives that I don't personally like, and I would argue that most neo prog is the very antithesis of what prog is really about, but you know how I deal with it? I don't bother reading about it! Spocks Beard are about as innovative as the Australian Pink Floyd IMO, but their inclusion in the archive causes me not the slightest twinge of discomfort. Prog at its best was a broad church, encompassing bits of medieval folk, modern jazz, hard rock, free improv and much else besides. The fact that contemporary bands are incorporating elements of prog into their work should be a cause for celebration.

I voted Yes.I don't want to stop discussion BUT Radiohead are now in so they are a prog band..so NAH NAH NAH NAH NAH

As a matter of fact you are absolutely right, its pointless discussing a mediocre band appointed prog rock here and their next release will be absolutely as pop as possible with a few mellotron sounds so that the kids here will have a blast and holler  SEE..THATS PROG ! ! ! !

Switch 'Radiohead' with 'whether every bloody band is prog or not' and then I vote yes.

I say if Radiohead was inducted into the progarchives, Primus definetly should have because they are more prog.

I think the backside has been torn out of this particular argument and it's time to move on to pastures new. However we could keep it going for a little while longer just for the hell of it.

Anyway, now that they are officially in is it possible for them to be removed? Have any other artists been voted out before?

Just wondering.

Besides, we can now rejoice, for Fantomas is now on the Archives (Which I'll shut the F**K up about now because I'm pretty sure that's pissing everyone  off)
