I'm using Napster extensively ... I created this thread to promote the use of legal music services a little bit.

This thread is for users of "unlimited" music services only - that means services which charge a fixed fee each month and allow users to listen to anything they have for as long or often as they want. Some of these services are streaming only (you can only listen to the songs in their own (proprietary) player application), others use DRM protected files which you can download and play on most Windows-DRM compatible players.

I believe that this is the ultimate solution for any music enthusiast ... and there are no legal concerns whatsoever.

Let me begin with:

Hawkwind - Hall of the Mountain Grill (Napster)

Big smile

Can you load these files onto, say, a Sony NWA digital walkman or are they only playable on your PC?

When people get lost in thought it's often because it's unfamiliar territory.

^ you need a compatible player. Usually new players are compatible if they support the Windows-DRM system at all (WMA), but to be on the safe side they should have the "PlaysForSure" logo.

I've only started listening to Hawkwind, really enjoying them! So far I've got The Chronicle of the Black Sword and Warrior on the Edge of Time

How is Hall of the Mountain Grill?

^ I'm not an expert on Hawkwind - I don't have any other album and am only starting to get into them via Napster. I'll need to listen some more before I say anything ...

Now listening to: Kaipa - Keyholder (Napster)
