I think that a search for bands order by country can be helpful. My apologies if this has been asked before.

It has, mirco, and the facility was added recently as a result. I didn't know it had been added either until I read Joren's post.

Go to any of the alphabetical lists of bands and click on a country (they are hyperlinks) and, pronto, you will get a list of all the bands from that country that are in the Archives.

Rather than start a new thread, i though I'd just hijack this one.Big smile

I notice that Traffic and The Cardiacs are listed with asterisks on either side of their name. What is the reason for this? It seems to screw up the various seaches and listings.

For example, Traffic do not appear under the band list for the letter T.

The Cardiacs appear at the top of the list of bands from England, before 3 (ELP spin off), and bands starting with the latter A.

Are the asterisks significant?

I think that means they have incomplete discographies.

I think Useful_Idiot is basically correct: mailto:M@X - M@X had not completed setting up TRAFFIC's page in the Archives (he has removed the asterisks now that he has finished entering all the information he intended to display). Presumably the same will happen when he is satisfied with THE CARDIACS page.

Thanks guys, I think you're right.

Max, in view of the way the asterisks affect searches, alphabetic lists, etc., it may be as well to dispense with them, at least from the beginning of the band name.
