If you guys happen to be bored enough to check me out, I'd love any questions, comments, or verbal abuse you have Wink I'll go ahead and apologise in advance for the lo-fi ness of Jam in D. Soundclick capped me @ 10 Mb, and with a 15 minute song, you've got to compress pretty hard to get under that ceiling.

So this isn't totally shameless self promotion, I've got a bit of a mic issue. I'm operating on the MXL anniversiary pack (MXL 2001 and MXL 603). Now, the 603 has caused me no problems; it's the small diaphragm mic you're hearing on....well, everything posted there. The problem comes with the 2001. It has managed to make my voice sound absolutely horrible every time I've tried to use it. It drops the entire bass tones off of my voice and renders me sounding similar to Wierd Al Yankovich Cry I tried digitally bass boosting, but when there's no bass to boost, that doesn't do much good. Does anyone have any reccomendations for a good (<$200) mic for vocals?

Thanks in advance.

(so for any of you who noticed this during the 1.5 minutes it was up in another spot on the forum, I just realized that this would be the better place for this post.....I know, noob Embarrassed

edit:...so no comments Broken Heart I really meant the questions, comments, verbal abuse part. I'll take anything. Hell, if you'll provide a decent reasoning, I'd be happy with "you suck!" Nearly all of my feedback on the stuff has come from: A.) my family (who are required to like it, even though they refuse to listen to anything remotely resembling prog.), B.) My girlfriend (who doesn't even pretend to care much about music and is also required to like it), and C.) A few guys who worked under me this summer and are therefore required to like it (at least to my face) lest they face the dreaded wrath of the bossman. Since internet forums are typically havens for those who have no qualms telling someone that they are worthless and undeserving of love, I was hoping for a fairer review, lest I wind up with a swelled head.
