I can't help but feel that this site would be improved if there was a section that broke down the various subgenres of progressive rock.  Similiar to how in general music is classified. For instance Jazz, Blues, Classical.

Progressive would be the catagory and all the subcatagories would be listed which the bands would fall into.  Of course this way bands that have been ommitted would have a place.  I realize I am relatively new here and maybe this has been done, although I do not see it.  I just read post after post of bands not included and if the categories were listed in an obvious place & defined then they could be sorted more specifically.  For instance ELO, Roxy Music, and even musicians such as Bowie and Traffic whom I have see mentioned here as well.  I am interested in seeing if this has been done and if so where can I find it?  If it hasn't then maybe the powers that be would consider it.

Click on 'Index' on PA main page. There you will find the different categories.

Thanx for pointing that out as I had missed the "index" on the PA main page.

Hi

Excellent site, I'm very impressed. Perhaps you could get more bands to provide mp3 tracks. If they need any proof then just tell them that I have bought loads of CDs when I have heard their style. To me it is a great way of getting to know more bands. Symphonic and metal prog are my preference. Keep up the good work. Just off to get some Arena, PFM and IQ CDs (after hearing their sample tracks of course)

PS. Your members details have me located as Fiji. I Don't know how that got there, can you chage to England please. Cheers

Welcome Rob! My name's Rob too!

Yeah I agree with you. More MP3s would be lovely, but I know nothing of computers so I don't know how much time or space it would take up. Quite frustrated hearing people rave about a band's particular style and one can't hear it!
