Hoi everyone,

Must've been lurking here for quite a long time. Took me a while to get a private connection to the internet. It's just 'not done' to actually post on a forum at work. Well, not for me it would be way too distracting and my boss can see my screen from his office.

You know you should really put up a warning.Wink Since I found this place I've spent a couple of months worth of wages on new music. Still great to be here.

Some of the new bands I've discovered here:

Camel, Porcupine Tree, Van Der Graaf Generator, Gentle Giant, Magma, Ozric Tentacles, King Crimson, The Gathering, Yes, Genesis, Ayreon, Focus, Riverside, Jethro Tull, Sigur Ros, Eloy, The Mars Volta, Arena, Amon Duul 2, Rush, Negative Zone, Comus, Devin Townsend, Yes, Genesis, Stream of Passion

Before I got here all the prog I was in was Marillion (Fish era, Hogarth scares me), Pink Floyd and Dream Theater. At least I think so.

Hi,

Just joined, what a great site. I am 48, so I have been around a while. Originally began with Genesis, Yes, ELP, Focus, Pink Floyd and Camel. Got into Marillion in the 80s but thought the music had died. In the late 90s read an article in Classic Rock called Prog Rock Y2K! and it featured Dream Theater, Spocks Beard and The Flower Kings. I checked these bands out and was staggered by the quality. Since then I have "discovered" IQ, Pendragon, Pallas, Mostly Autumn, Porcupine Tree and Transatlantic. Again I was knocked out by these bands.

My recent purchases in the last two weeks have been Arena (3 albums) Riverside and Frost. I am looking forward to adding more bands to my collection once I learn more from this site.
