I prefere randomness over repetition, but only just. Tangerine Dream can be quite hypnotizing Wacko, but Krimson keeps me on my toes. Pinch

A bit of mixture will be great.. But i prefer randomness. However if its too random, then there will be too much things to hear ...

Repeating the same thing, over and over, gets on my nerves. Repeating the same thing, over and over, gets on my nerves. Repeating the same thing, over and over, gets on my nerves. Repeating the same thing, over and over, gets on my nerves. Repeating the same thing, over and over, gets on my nerves. Repeating the same thing, over and over, gets on my nerves. I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress, I repeat myself when under stress...

So, guess what I voted for?Tongue

Seriously, though, a little bit of repetition can do wonders too - as in the "bolero" structure used, for instance, by ELP or (especially) Metallica in "The Call of Ktulu".

I don't mind minimalism or repetitions and such as long as its good. Randomness is kind of in the same book as repetition, if its good theres no problem. I can't get enough of both really. So I won't vote Approve

I understand what you mean. I just couldn't resist. I was going to go with Crimson, but it was too obvious. Repetiton can be a useful tool, but all to often it is just plain boring. I love what Pink Floyd does with it, but I find most ambient drones on. There are also cases where it appears that it is more of a lack of fresh ideas.

The Tangerine Dream that I've listened to isn't repetitive at all.

KC's randomness is one of the things I like best about them. But repetition (the meaning it has here) can be very effective aswell, I really have nothing against it.
