how is Tim Blakes's Crystal Machine

and I have the option of picking up Hawkwind's Warrior of the Edge of Timef on vinyl in NM condition for $20 bucks.  Hawkwind always seemed like a band I would be into because of my metal background and love for fantasy, but everything i have heard from them I havent liked, but I havent heard anything from this album, and from what I have read, this is THE album.

Everything I have read sounds fantastic, and the artwork is fantastic.  I just can't find any clips anywhere of this album (to be fair i am not searching to hard).  All I know is the DVD I have of them from 1990is on classic rock legends I had to stop after the first song, and the clip on this site doesnt do anything for me, but I am still interested in this album, is this album unique in its own right, do you think i will like it?

yes, this thread has nothing to do with tim blake AND hawkwind (although i think i read that blake was in hawkwind for a while)

Tim Blake was in Hawkwind in 79/80, for the albums "Live 79" and "Levitation". And yes, "Warrior" is definitely worth buying!

If your background is mainly metal, you may well like "Sonci Attack", which is an altogether more aggressive album than "Levitation" (which is frankly magnificent in itself - so get both!).

Many metal fans I know cite "Chronicles of the Black Sword" as their favourite - but it sounds a bit "80s" for my tastes.

"Warrior..." is brilliant, it goes without saying, but I've yet to familiarise myself with Blake's solo material.

I must find out what happened in his recent court case where some drunk guy piled into him and he got blamed.

The important thing is not to stop questioning.
