First of all, this is not meant to be a negative thread, the thing was that y noticed that the majoritie in this site considers "And You and I" better than "Siberian Kathru", wich I disagree totally.Embarrassed

If somebody could give reasons why Siberrian Kathru isnt as good as the rest, y woud apreciate it.Smile

Yes rulesss!!!!!!!ClapClap

it's really lame that you added the  (...you really have problems) after CTTE.  All 3 songs are good so why can't someone like CTTE slightly less than the others.

And You and I is my favorite followed very closely by Siberian Khatru.
CTTE is good but not my favorite Yes song.

I think all the songs are great on the album but I have to say that And You and I and Siberian Khatru are stronger than Close to the Edge, I think it's the country yodelling at the beginning (especially with Steve Howe's awlful voice) that brings the down a slight peg IMHO.

By the way whats a Khatru?

I never got into And You and I . I don't know why since most prog lovers love it. But I love Siberian Khatru and the title track

I love them all but And You And I can drag a little even though it is still a splendid song.  I love the choral part near the end of Siberian Khatru... da da do daaa do daa da da da ect.  Can someone enlighten me about what exactly a Khatru is?

CTTE and AYAI are both perfect.  I feel that the studio version of Siberian really doesn't end the album off with as much of a kick as it should, but it's still a five star album in my book.

It's all perfect, but if there is a weak track, it's Siberian Khatru because the fade out is just a little too long.  And that whole Dah...Dah...Dah Dah...Dah...Dah Dah Dee Dah part is kind of annoying.

SK is a weaker song because it doesn't fell as composed as the other two.  They feel like full fledged compositions, while SK feels more like a straight ahead rocker.

Just my two cents.

A masterpiece of music period. This band is so good, and so few people appreciate them outside of the strong cult following they have built up over the years.

Because Wakeman repeating that accursed keyboard riff over 20 time annoys the hell out of me. I also don't like the ending guitar solo, as it doesn't seem to really go anywhere or do anything, but maybe that's because I'm always distracted by being angry at Wakeman.

My vote goes to 'You and I' because it's a really repetitive tune... maybe if it finishes in the middle was a great song, but the second part is the same thing of the first, and this is boring...Disapprove

that siberian song didn`t do much for me but I like the rest, its not a perfect CD probably a little overatted  anybody who says it is perfect either doesn`t get out much or has bad taste in music Wink

And you and I: 9/10
Siberian Khatru: 7/10 at best.

to my ears, there's no such thing as "weak" song -- whatever "weak" means. it's a solid album in its entirety.

Alost perfect album, its so close its not funny, just sometimes, only sometimes the start of Close To The Edge drags but then it gets into it and its all redeemed. Does anyone else think that or am I alone?

Siberian Khatru is the weakest IMO, but only compared to the rest of the album which is so good. CTTE is one of a small number of Yes albums where I like every song.

I don't know what kind of music she creates, but she's definitely more pleasant to look at than your avatarTongue.

None - CTTE is as close to perfection as one can imagine. I admit that "And You And I" is my least favourit track, but that doesn't mean it's weak.

As to the meaning of "Khatru", I remember reading somewhere, a long time ago, that it was a word of Tibetan (?) origin meaning something like "so be it", but my recollections are really not very good.

CTTE was my introduction to Yes (other than Owner of a Lonely Heart on the radioDead) and first time I listened to it I was thinking 'Why did I buy this?' but second time through everything clicked and the album is now one of my favourites.

Enough of my waffling.

None of the songs on this album are 'weak' however Siberian Khatru is 'weaker' than the rest of the album but only because the rest of the album is so good.

Multi-storey car parks - they're favourite round here for people like you LOL

To the question -

If it means "which is a weak track?" then the answer is NONE - they are all strong

If it means "which track do I prefer least?" then it is NONE - I like CTTE best, then the other 2 equally

And You And I, though the music of all three songs is good. It's not my favourite Yes record, but still, I like it.

Each song is outstanding, in the sense of exhilarating surprise, at least, since the trio surpass the highest poises for evaluation to level on, even in inexistent preconceptions! Diverging from any, all tracks amaze the already jubilant crowd, though, analysts will view Siberian Khatru as a slightly inferior tune, in terms of composition and lyrical fascination, as its more repetitive and less accessible, given its duration. Nevertheless, it's not actually repeating an unnerving guitar flair, nor are those laudative words meaningless, in perception, by any means. The question was "Less spectacular song", I think, thus I consider the threesome equally grand, in its own demeanour.

Siberian Khatru, but even thats pretty good!

If could vote for the extra tracks on the CD, I would vote for their version of 'America' Sorry, I know thats a very popular song, but I cant stand the Yes version.

Close to the Edge is a Prog Rock Masterpiece!! In my opinion all the songs are perfect, I must say I enjoy And You And I more than Siberian Kathru but I still love them all!
There is no doubt at all that yes is one of the leading bands in the history of Progressive Symphonic Rock and they really deserve to be, CTTE is an unmistakable piece of evidence in that matter!

So I really dont understand how you can say theres a weak song on Close to the Edge, in my eyes its a Miracle record and deserves 100% perfect votes from all of you!

I vote None!
