Hello I've been looking at this site for what seems years and never joined, so I've decided to bite the bullet and join.

Why now I might hear you ask?...... please ask?

Well on another forum some kindly soul had recommended an album by a band I had never heard called 'Willowglass' it was their debut album and they just said check it out, so I did. The result is that cd now sits proudly in my collection and was and is worth the £7.99 I paid for it. That the benefit of the forum and that why I have joined.

As for musical taste I was lucky (Although I now wish I was younger!) to be around in the 70's and had enough money to buy the occassional LP and see the odd live concert. I was introduced to prog through Genesis and the 'Musical Box' they still remain my favourite band.

my fav's were and are

Yes, Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull (Bit of deja vu saw them live the other week), BJH,Gong, Gentle Giant, Mike Oldfield, Camel

Didn't get King Crimson and still don't

Now listening to Ayreon, IQ, Jadis, Flower Kings, Pendragon, Arena, Transatlantic, Spocks Beard, DT and Mike Portney side projects, Magenta, Mostly Autumn

New Bands at least to me and really enjoying

Credo, Crimson Sky, Kino, Riverside, RPWL, The Tangent, Threshold, Tr3nity and of course Willowglass.

Always like to hear of new bands

I look forward to speaking to you soon

Welcome!

Make yourself at home. Just don't start any "X is overrated" threads.

Welcome.

You might want to give a listen to Porcupine Tree, although IMO they aren't all that Prog.

And Pallas - their new CD, The Dreams of Men is pretty good in an 80's prog sort of way.

I love Kino - very refreshing listen.

Also, please consider the American Prog band Glass Hammer. Their latest, the Inconsolable Secret, it very reminescent of 70's (YES, ELP) prog. I find it a very enjoyable listen.
