Well 24 hours later and with time to savour last nights show, once again i am blown away. To think that i had almost given up on Progressive rock as nothing more than a very nice nostalgia trip, then along came two shows in 3 months that have changed my views emphatically. I have said enough about the mars Volta show elsewhere, which was breathtaking, and last night Sigur Ros well, really, i have to be careful here, but they moved me to tears.
The music swirled around the enmore theatre and picked up all the sorrow of the world cleansed it and released it in a massive outpouring of hope. This was achingly beautiful. The light show was a triumph of understatement. What an experience. Never have i seen a band perform behind the backdrop and all we could see were shadows looming large and fading.
The advent of the silk screen across the stage for the opening and closing tracks was a triumph of artistry. If the opening of Glossoli wasn't enough then the encore of untitled track# 8 from ( ) grabbed this audience by the scruff of the neck and thrust it upward to roar an unearthly roar from the pent up emotions that this show had created. Suspensful and masterly, suspenseful and masterly Sigur Ros can stand tall as the masters of progressive rock in 2006. 9/10

I think, maybe there are one or two errors but it was close to this.
------------- There stands Olias to outward to build a ship
Holding within all we hope to retain
