This ones for the artists out there. What are your most popular albums to play while you create. Some of my favs are Hatfield and the North, Thick as a Brick, UmmaGumma, Ege Bamyasi, Zeit, In a Silent Way just to name a few. I was painting this morning, and found that On an Island is now on this list. So paint, draw, sculpt whatever your medium, what is your musical muse?

When I saw the title of the thread I thought you meant procreation .

When I draw or paint I usually don't listen to anything. I actually enjoy silence for those kind of things.

I don't paint or do any fine arts, at home at least
When I study, I usually play something light so that it doesn't distract.

Magma, mostly. Complex stuff, The Residents, Art Bears.... everything that comes with a touch of drama or very strong emotional background... VDGG, etc.

Well, I'm a writer and I don't usually listen to anything when I am serioulsy writing, I find it very distracting, anathema to the creative process.
If I'm journaling, I'll listen to anything, but if I'm seriously creating, I have to be alone with my thoughts and feelings.

When I study I listen to classical music.
And when I want inspiration, I just see my Pink Floyd Live at Pompei DVD OR LISTEN TO dANNY eLFMAN
------------- For most it does not come easily
For some it comes with pain
From a thought to a living sight
For some it's a life for some a game
