Well, there was always very few prog musicians in my country, Israel, and even less prog musicians in the high standards of the prog giants of europe . But it seems in the 70s there was one guy who created truly amazing music, Avner Kenner, in particular one song called "Bridge", which I can honestly say is one of the best prog songs ever made by anyone.

It's even in english, so you guys can understand the lyrics. The most evident influence is probably Gentle Giant.... so this is a real treat for Gentle Giant fans!!!

Here's a link to a totally legal and full download of the amazing song "Bridge": http://www.israeliprog.com/index/Artists/Downloads/Avner_Kener_%20Bridge.mp3 - http://www.israeliprog.com/index/Artists/Downloads/Avner_Ken er_%20Bridge.mp3

What do you guys think?

I really liked it!

My favorite Israeli prog, however, is Ahvak, hands down.

I was so happy to find that band.

Israeli prog - absolutely unknown territory for me. First CD of Israeli band is arriving into my collection this very Sunday. This is Trespass "In the haze of time", and I ordered it just for sake of broadening horisons. Expect good symphonic prog. Does anyone else know this particular band????

I think this should be in "Recommendations/Listening to" section of forum.

AHVAK is excellent ( http://mitkadem3.homestead.com/files/Reviews2/AhvakReviewEnglish.html - http://mitkadem3.homestead.com/files/Reviews2/AhvakReviewEng lish.html ).

Other notable bands are SOLSTICE COIL (A Prescription For Paper Cuts), SYMPOZION (who just released their first album, Kundabuffer) and TRESPASS (as was mentioned, In Haze of Time).

I would also like to suggest an unknown and unlisted PA band - Magentic

Here is their site: http://www.magentic.net/en/ - http://www.magentic.net/en/

You can download some of their stuff there.
