Let's see who's picked up on this one:

For a section of the vocal part on Incubus by Marillion, or specifically, "Betrayed by a porcelain tear", fish isn't singing this bit. Who actually is?

It actually is fish. What they did, is they took his voice, and did all this stuff to it. Slowed it down, then played that sped up and digitaly transposed or something like that. And thats how it happened.

I can strangle a canary in a tin can and it would be really original, but that wouldn't save it from sounding like utter sh*t.

Really?

I read in an old magazine an interview with Fish where he mentioned it was actually Peter Hammill.

It was the Prince's Trust concert or something. Parts of it were televised at the time. I remember seeing them play the song Pussy Willow from Broadsword, and Ian making Phil laugh with his antics and exagerated movements during the song.

Zappa trivia, phase one:

Mick Jagger removed a splinter from Frank's foot while visiting him at his house.

Bob Dylan knocked on Frank's door in the early 80's to ask Frank to produce his next album.  Frank respectfully declined.

On the album "We're Only In It For The Money", there's a voice saying, "God, it's God, I see God!".  The voice is Eric Clapton.

During the Songs From The Wood tour in 1977, Ian Anderson would take the stage and introduce himself as the support act for the evening. He would then tell the audience, "But don't worry, I'm going to begin with one of Jethro's favorite songs, which I'm sure he would sing himself if he were here".

What name did Ian use when introducing himself?

Forget it, you're flogging a dead horse. Time to move on.

Did you know, Roger Waters recorded the bassline for Atom Heart Mother (all 24 minutes) in ONE take!? Pretty amazing huh? You've got to concentrate so ahrd and be really competent to record for that long.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, and welcome to what ought to be another absolutely super show from Jethro Tull.  Meanwhile, my name is Arnold Stirrup and I'm the support act for this evening.  But don't worry, I'm going to play one of Jethro's favorite songs, which I'm sure he would sing himself if he was here.  It's called..."

Ian then proceeds to play Wondering Aloud.

OK, here's another one:

On December 4, 1971, FZ and The Mothers Of Invention were in the middle of a concert at the Casino de Montreux in Geneva, Switzerland, when the building caught fire and burned to the ground. Fortunately, no one was killed.

What famous song was written to chronicle this event? Hint: It was NOT written by FZ.
