hi everyone,

i have just discovered this site and whilst it is not my favourite form of the rock spectrum{i generally like classic and heavy rock, metal} i am intrigued and have followed some of the bands to some degree.

Looking through the general accepted classic album section of prog archives i came across the band camel, i am aware of there name but not really the music. but was fascinated with the album the snow goose as it contains tracks named as @Rhayader@ @Rhayader goes to town and one other,on reading the fans reviews i discover that rhayader is a guy who lives in a lighthouse on the essex marshes and heals birds.

Does anybody know how the band, camel, came across this name for a character,as those of you who are welsh will know that it is the english spelling of the welsh word Rhaeder which means waterfall.

i am intrigued by this as Rhayader is a small market town ten miles away from where i live and to give  a characters name  so accurately when phonetically it could of been ray-der suggests insider knowledge.

does any body know if there is a connection with my local town at all?

if any one knows i would be interested to read replies.

Well, I know the music is inspired by a small book by Paul Gallico, called The Snow Goose. I never read it, but it's about a character called Philip Rhayader.
