I owm a copy of TEST FOR ECHO which is discrete, but i don't know about COUNTERPART and ROLL THE BONES. What's the best? |

I love these three....but Roll the bones is one of my favourite of all Rush's career (the namesake track is enough to love the whole album, I think) ------------- Look in the mirror...my friend! |

| I like some songs on Counterparts (Nobody's Hero is one of my favorite ballads), but overally it's not stellar and neither is Test for Echo. To me at least Roll the Bones is more solid. |

I cannot believe what I am reading here. Counterparts blows both RTB and TFE out of the water. Peart's drum sound on RTB is way too thin and snappy. Other than Driven and Totem, Test's songs are uninspired afterthoughts. |

To a point, T4E is throwaway...but I gave it three stars based on the fact that SOME of it IS catchy. You're right though; most of it is sh*t. ROLL THE BONES: COUNTERPARTS: TEST FOR ECHO: ------------- Some world views are spacious, and some are merely spaced... |

In college (around 1996 or 1997), a friend asked me to listen to Test
For Echo. I took it home and popped it in and made it to the 3rd
song before I turned it off. It was an odd attempt at sounding
more metal but with boring riffs played over and over and a muddy sound.

| It has to be Counterparts, there is some excellent songwriting on this one. RTB has some great songs and some so-so. T4E is a good album, but doesn't flow well for me. Although in Neil's book, he states that Test For echo is his drum masterpiece. |

Allthough i love all of them i have to say that the counterparts album is propably the best from those three..Maybe because Roll the bones is 'pop' enought and Test for echo is a bit less inspired.. -------------

I dont own Roll the bones or test for Echo...but Counterparts is soooooooooooo baaaad!!! If there is one album I dont like thats Counterpart...how is it that it gets so many 5 stars??? ------------- "You want me to play what, Robert?"

 I might prefer Counterparts over TFE musically, but TFE is my first Rush album so it's always been something special for me.
