I think 'Trilogy' is a masterpiece. I think the songs are balanced, enjoyable, and some of ELP's tracks songs are on the record. I also think this is Lake's best vocal album, What does everyone else think?

3 Stars.  I like BSS a little more, but it's tied with the s/t release for my 2nd favorite ELP album.

Trilogy  and BSS are the best albums from ELP. I'm not a huge fan of Abaddon's Bolero, but the rest of the album is fantastic. Truly Masterpiece.

You feel it is a great album. Why do you ask whether it is rubbish?

think of Ravel's Bolero...

Abaddon is not very good constructed,but rudimentary elements of the original Bolero can be observed.

Ravels is not original and Abaddons is not based on it at all. They are both "Bolero's" though which are of the same form. Check out Becks Bolero also.

Great album but falls just shy of masterpiece:   9/10   Four stars. var SymRealOnLoad; var SymRealOnUnload; function SymOnUnload() { window.open = SymWinOpen; if(SymRealOnUnload != null) SymRealOnUnload(); } function SymOnLoad() { if(SymRealOnLoad != null) SymRealOnLoad(); window.open = SymRealWinOpen; SymRealOnUnload = window.onunload; window.onunload = SymOnUnload; } SymRealOnLoad = window.onload; window.onload = SymOnLoad; //-->

9/10 = 4.5/5, Rounded off to five! Still arguably a masterpiece

4,90 or some thing its a very good album but BSS beats it as the real ELP masterpiece!

Trilogy is a five star prog rock classic, no doubt about it, and it represents, I think, the best example of the ELP synergy working to its highest degree, something they lost as time went on.

When ELP were on fire, like they were on this lp, no one prog rocked better then they did.

Trilogy, overall is much better than Tarkus, which only had one side that was great. Trilogy, overall isn't quite as good as the first side of Tarkus, which is an absolute Prog classic.

Trilogy overall is a 4 star album, not great, just very good.

I would call it a masterpiece but abaddon's bolero is the one thing that holds the album back.

I gave it 3 stars which may be a disservice to the album. However, its not their best effort, & not a masterpiece by any means.

Brain Salad Surgery/Tarkus
