A lot of prog rock music has interesting bass lines. That's one of the reasons that make it progressive.

If you're advanced enough for it try the prog classic King Crimson - 21st Century schizoid man. Here Greg Lake does some wonders on the bass. Most of the very famous, older prog music like yes, crimson, and rush have interesting bass lines.

You haven't said what standard you are - there are some pretty hard bass lines out there in prog land!
How about some of Chris Squire's?
  • Sweet dreams
  • Perpetual change (gets hard in the middle)
  • Roundabout
  • The Fish
  • Heart of the sunrise
  • Parallels
  • Release Release
  • On the silent wings of freedom
  • Tempus Fugit
  • Does it really happen?
That lot should keep you quiet for a while!
If you want me to pick just one, I like "On the silent wings of freedom". Not too taxing, although the timing is a bit tricky.

If you want to get really frustrated for a couple weeks, run straight for "Gates of Delerium"

21st Century Schizoid Man is definitly a good one to go for - it's hard but not ridiculous, and it also sounds awesome. After that, most of Gates of Delerium shouldn't be too impossible, although for some reason I got sidetracked tuning my bass into major 3rds a while ago, so I haven't played much for a while . Not to mention my proper bass and only amp are 200 miles away at the minute & we won't be reunited for two or three weeks

I know two Dream Theater albums on bass, those cleaned up my playing in ways I never thought possible.

Jonas Reingold from The Flower Kings is an incredible bassist as well, and I've just started learning his work, which is no easy task.  He can really play.
