WHY!??! are the ones that mix these dvd's deaf or what? I have seen several dvd's where the sound of the different instruments and vocals vary all the time and i find it EXTREMLY irritating...take forexample the spocks beard dvd Live In Holland....there the volume of the different instruments go up and down really dramatic all the time really awfull....Neal Morse signs normally and then perhaps forexample the bass comes in...then Neal Morse and the rest of the instruments are turned down really dramatically and then i have to adjust the volume dial again...and then they fade up again and i have to turn down the volume...it drives me nuts!!! I know that it is the dvd that is causing this it is not my speakers or something that cut....extremly annoying...do anyone know what the mixers was thinking when they did it? I know what you mean. When buying a music DVD I'm interested on the sound quality not so much the image. I've got one live in Astoria DVD from Tool which is a bootleg and the sound completely sucks but we 're talking about official releases here right? I tought on Rock in Rio the mixing was really good -------------

| I hadn't noticed anything like that on Rush In Rio, but I have a Pendragon DVD where the sound and pictures are out of sync and I find that really annoying. |

I can understand if the DVD is from an old show, but otherwise there is no excuse for poor sound quality. -------------

The Yessongs DVD has pretty bad sound and video quality, but overall it's a good DVD. -------------

I have a home theater system,and I have experienced none of the problems you just described with the Spock's Beard-Don't Try This At Home,Live in Holland dvd.I think the sound quality of that dvd(compared to their other ones),is excellent. -------------  |

I have this on VHS - now that is poor quality... great film, though. Rush In Rio has been mentioned - the one thing I find irritating about that is the crowd noise is too high in the mix & this detracts from what is otherwise a faultless DVD. -------------
