Kansas has a very cool heavy line in its recordings!
How about that!

I voted on 'Monolith', since the guitar riffs and the rhythm section sound quite heavy in the mix. It's funny how these factors really started to show off stunningly while the melodic approach provided by Livgren and Walsh was starting to lose some of the magic it had in the band's first 5 albums. Yet, there's lots of heavy elements in the rockers 'How My Soul Cries Out for You' and 'Stay Out of Trouble', the amazing Ehart driven drum rolls in 'Away from You', and the fiery interlude of 'Angels Have Fallen', one of Walsh's finest compositions ever.

Regards.

I agree with Cesar Inca, Monolith is the point when the heaviest stuff was released.

Not my favorite period though, I stay with the era when prog' and heavy stuff were in perfect balance like in Leftoverture.

The heaviest album to me was Masque but it isn't listed.  With Icarus and Mystries and Mayhem and Child of Innocence I mean how much more do you want.
