I'm a member of some music forums in belfast...Where I live and  of course most of them talk about local bands, new up and coming bands.

But when I log onto progarchives. My heart will miss a beat. I'll have totally forgotten I'm on a prog forum. I'll see a topic enititled 'The Advent of Panurge' (on of my favorite songs) And say My god why are people on my NI music forum talking about Gentle Giant?

Then i'll remember I'm on the home of prog. Haha. I seriously gotta remember which link button I press in future.

But yeah I had to share that with everyone. It's just nice to come to a forum where everyone (a few exceptions) love prog music.

Woohoo.sappiest post ever!!

Chris.

I agree, not only about the subject matter, but even though fans have a lot of different opinions most everyone seems pretty well mannered and well spoken.

I like it because, unlike a lot of other music boards, there is a genuine intention of exchanging ideas and everyone points everyone else in the direction of great bands that they would otherwise have never heard of. I never would have discovered some great bands like Focus or VdGG without it.

Tolerance of other peoples musical tastes is paramount - I love prog music obviously but also like metal (esp prog metal)

I love progarchives because it's great hanging out with polite, bright, diverse, well-informed people from all over the globe.

And we all share an interest in an underexposed, awesome art from: prog rock.

And I really dig the air of respect - my passion is symphonic rock, yet I've never been bashed for that, nor I have ever bashed someone who is into Zappa or RIO or Canterbury or some other genre.

And technically, the site is brilliantly laid out, graphically attractive, and super-user friendly.

progarchives rules.

My sanctuary, (litterally), from the emo sister, rappers at my school (more than half the school population is black and those who arn't tend to listen to rap also, im not racist or stereotyping either), nonstop "fuse" television from my family, endless amounts of Greenday being worshiped by my city, those who wear girl pants, and the mom telling me to turn down the headphones.

This site is where i go to be me, and is one of the reasons why i havent just said, "I give up with this music, I'm just gonna conform and listen to punk/rap/metal like everyone else so I can finnaly have some one to talk with about my musical passion."

Thank you prog archives and thank you all proggers than encourage me to listen to prog that I'm familliar with and love and prog that I'm new to and will love.

Really, Thank You.

I  this web site.

Prog archives has rejuvenated my proggie inclination and has assured me that I am not the only prog-obsessed guy in the world. Its so great to see so much of spontaneous participation from all over the world about prog rock. I got glimpses of the prog-heads from all over the world here and also discovered so many bands which I haven't heard before. Thanks progarchieve for letting me discover Flower Kings and Pendragon among the new ones.

personally, I love the Archive as it's full of the psychotically deluded -

This is the most amusing site on the internet.

No really.

Hysterical.

I have even counted about 15-20 people who 'get' the genre here,
amongst the floundering gaggle of FAN EXPERTS.

A laugh a minute.

Better than Martin and Lewis.
