Subject: Prog Archives Hall of Fame-Update 8/15

This may have already been done, but I am willing to keep tally of votes from the membership (and admin/colloboraters/reviewers) on who you think should be in our own Prog Archives "Prog Hall of Fame".

The rules of entry are simple: reply with ten prog artists/groups you think should be in our hall of fame - in no particular order. Any band/duo/solo artist/etc. archived on this site qualifies, and you don't have to justify your picks (unless, of course, you want to for fun). Each band will receive one (1) point. I'll keep score and occaisionally post the top bands. If you have less than 10, no problem please still submit. If you nominate more than 10, I'll only award points to the first 10 you mention.  Hopefully this is fairly straightforward. I await your votes!

Caravan really deserves to be up there, but I couldn't justify displacing any of the bands I submitted...even the ones I don't like had so much impact they made the list.

Sorry, it was a stupid mistake created when editing the list because when I think in a band, 10 more come to my mind and I always edit this posts endlesly trying to find the fair list (What is never really achieved), here is my correct list:

  1. Genesis
  2. Anglagard
  3. Pink Floyd
  4. Triumvirat
  5. ELP
  6. PFM
  7. Jethro Tull
  8. Magenta

They've always been pretty big here in the Northeast of the US... I saw both Dave's here last Nov. with the acoustic Strawbs. .and just last month here with the electric Strawbs.. They also just played Nearfest here last month.
