I've been getting intermittent errors loading PA artist pages for about the last hour or so, the main error being:
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a0401'
Expected end of statement
/Progressive_rock_discography_includes/inc_webstorelinks.asp, line 74
end if amazonMusicCountryLink <> "" then -------^
Earlier I also had the error:
Microsoft VBScript compilation error '800a03ea'
Syntax error
/Progressive_rock_discography_includes/inc_webstorelinks.asp, line 35
Case "AI","AG","AR","AW","BS","BB","BZ","BM","BO","BR",,"KY","CL","CO","CR","CU","CW","DM","DO","EC","SV","FK","GF","GD","GP","GT","GY","HT","HN","JM","MX","MS","NI","PA","PY","PE","PR","KN","LC","VC","TT","TC","US","UY","VE","VG","VI" -------------------------------------------------------^
The errors are intermittent, but seem to affect all PA artist pages during the short time that they persist.

I contacted Max, a similar thing is happening on his other sites.

It should be okay now, check and see.

^ Yes, it's been fine for about the last hour.
I realise that M@X has been tweaking one or two things with the site over recent days, so I guess the odd bug here and there was only to be expected. I just posted here earlier today for the purpose of making a record of the error messages that were being displayed, since someone more computer savvy than myself might know what they actually meant!

My one issue is the enlarged artist photos are blurry.

^ That depends really on the source material. As long as a decent, non blurry image of reasonable dimensions (>500px) was uploaded to begin with, then it shouldn't suffer from having an enlarged thumbnail displayed. If the original upload was only a tiny, low res photo though, then yes, the image on the artist's page is going to look crap after being enlarged.

^ Many were originally sourced with smaller images and some are major artists--- ELP, Yes, Tull, Holdsworth, all are now over-enlarged and blurred, not to mention tons of others. It's an unfortunate byproduct of the new format and if PA is to remain a world-class site, either the images will have to be replaced or resized, assuming the new format stays.
It's a big issue that must be addressed.

^ Of those artists you mention, only the Allan Holdsworth image has been noticeably upscaled, and thus made significantly more blurry than than the https://www.progarchives.com/progressive_rock_discography_band/AllanHoldsworth.jpg" rel="nofollow - original upload . The Yes and ELP images have been slightly enlarged, and thus are marginally more blurry than the originals, but the Jethro Tull image is no smaller, or more blurry than the original upload. I think all but the Allan Holdsworth image are more or less acceptable even after being slightly enlarged really.
But yes, there are some naff artist images floating about on here, so I guess we could open a new dedicated thread where cases of inadequate artist images could be reported, and suggested replacements posted, or just get folks to post them in this existing thread: https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=36282" rel="nofollow - https://www.progarchives.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=36282 for the E&O team to deal with them.

^ If unfocused images are acceptable, then sure, I guess. It's just not a great look. And frankly most of the new sizings are unnecessarily large, even if defined or not. But if people are okay with that, then so be it.

How about this for a better Allan Holdsworth pic?
Full size image is 1440x1987, and can be viewed https://bostonglobe-prod.cdn.arcpublishing.com/resizer/v2/G6OSGMBGG4I6PJX5ZGP7KTE43I.jpg?auth=4850508a9d2d76decc3cc7d01a0b7d7ea46707a2d8b1532edf8106f04d1ae2ef&width=1440" rel="nofollow - here . It's an AVIF image though, and would ned to be converted to JPG or PNG before it could be used.

^ I could easily swap the photos (having first saved the originals in case the change of photo wasn't widely accepted as an improvement), but we're not supposed to alter an artist's profile in any way (even very small changes) without first contacting the genre team. Keishiro posted about this somewhere in the cz. I'll try to find his post.

Here's one I'm tempted to just swap anyway, since it's almost the same image, but in much better quality:

^ Yep, I guess very few of the collabs who were involved in getting this baby up and running back in the early days still visit the site at all, never mind regularly, so we can hardly ask them for permission to make these sort of changes. Eugene of the E&O team is one of them though, and hopefully he will spot this thread and have some input to add to it.

I'm always open to an artist's photo I've added being updated, and I've added quite a few. There were times when I was lucky to find some dim, tiny old image after scouring the web. If someone finds a better one, I say have at it.
