Caravan or Camel? Multiple Vote. The spirit is that you take 7 votes, one for each pair of albums. Of course, you can vote just one or two, post your comments, and still return later for more. Also, all sorts of memorabilia, (un)expected associations, and those things we always wanted but they didn't give to us, are warmly welcome!

I think the most difficult to choose from was Do It All Over/ Mirage... really tight. Today I went with the former, tomorrow might be different..

FWIW, I went: Camel / Caravan / Caravan / Camel / Caravan / Caravan / Camel (Ice is by some way, the best track on either album)

1. Camel over Caravan
2. Mirage over Do It All Over
3. Grey & Pink over Snow Goose
4. Moonmadness over Waterloo Lily
5. Rain Dances over Girls Who Grow Plump
6. Cunning Stunts over Breathless
7. I Can See Your House over Blind Dog

The match I had more reservations with is Lily with Madness, which sounds quite unbalanced from the outset, but the album-by-album premise requires it...

Definitely Caravan over Camel.
The only album tête-à-têtes Camel wins is for Moonmadness and anything against Blind Dog.

Nice idea for a poll! Quite creative! I suspect we'll be seeing a lot like this now--which will be fun.

What I can tell about Camel and Caravan is that I love The Snow Goose and Grey & Pink, and find Rain Dances okay.

I've never listened to Caravan or Canterbury scene that much (although I enjoy recent releases by bands that are influenced by them for some reason such as Zopp and Tom Penaguin). As regards Camel I'm not a big fan of Breathless or Rain Dances but Nude is another masterpiece on a par with the Mirage to Moonmadness run imo. In general I would much rather dig into Camel's music as they have a lot of great 'deep cuts' and also some excellent later albums. Caravan were probably more ground breaking but that is not always the most imprortant thing for me.

I stand with Roger Waters, I stand with Joan Baez, I stand with Victor Jara, I stand with Woody Guthrie. Music is revolution

Grey & Pink over Snow Goose & Camel over Caravan

I'm much more of a Camel than a Caravan fan. Caravan have their moments though. At the end Camel wins 6-1, Girls Who Grow Plump is my favourite Caravan album and beats Rain Dances, even though I like that, too.

I'll be honest, anything after Round 6, Camel will win hands down, even The Single Factor in all likelihood; Caravan really went downhill after CS...

all my votes went systematically to Caravan...
the closer Camel came was for the debu &, Moonmadness (but Love In Your Eyes made the difference.
